Chaya forced the ancient Namekian Posalen to appear on Leifil Planet and challenged him to a battle to temper his strength. The two met in space and began fighting, with neither yet gaining the advantage.

Frieza's army approached Earth, and Piccolo, Gohan, Bulma, and Kami prepared for an invasion by more than ten thousand enemies. The forces reached South City while Goku and the others remained away, leaving Earth’s defenders to face the threat alone.
