In the Norse camp, a faint chill permeated the area around the central command tent guarded by Valkyries. Birds and insects had fallen silent, and all was quiet. The dimly lit interior carried an air of majesty mixed with slight oppression. In the empty space, only the soft scratching of a pen against rough paper remained.
Phew! I'm finally almost done with this pile...
Skadi, bent over her desk, took the opportunity to adjust her posture slightly as she dipped her pen in ink. She stretched her somewhat stiff neck, shoulders, and limbs, then glanced at the few remaining documents on the desk. A sense of accomplishment welled up in her heart, and the corners of her lips curled pleasantly upward.
But when she saw the stack of reviewed documents at her feet, nearly a meter high at the very least, the Goddess of Winter could not help but fall into a daze, her delicate brows furrowing.
It seemed she had not worked this hard in a very long time...
Still, it was strange. Whether she had been Jotunheim's divine consort or played the role of the Queen of the Shadow Realm, she had tried both before. Why had neither felt as exhausting as this time in Greece?
Clearly, she used to be very busy too, with plenty of things to do.
Like skiing... hunting... exploring... sleeping... sightseeing?
As memories of the past surfaced in a haze, Skadi could not help but laugh softly, a faint blush rising to her cheeks.
She had indeed been busy, but all those things had merely been pastimes that suited her divinity and personal nature.
As for those so-called duties, she had mostly only dabbled in them. She had never truly put much effort into them, so naturally she had never experienced much hardship.
