"Freya, coward!"
"Freya, coward!"
"Freya, coward!"
"You're not allowed in our flower field!"
In the flowerbeds shaded by branches and leaves ahead, three Winged Fae hovered in midair, jeering at the cowering figure beneath the tree.
"The flower field was clearly... clearly found by me first..."
Beneath the tree crouched a little fae with blue-gray butterfly wings and tattered clothes. She clutched a small basket tightly to her chest and protested weakly.
"Whatever we set our eyes on is ours!"
"Cowards don't deserve to occupy this place!"
"Exactly!"
The three Winged Fae laughed scornfully, and the air seemed filled with cheerful merriment.
"The flower field... I... I don't want it anymore..."
Freya's resolve weakened again and again. Drawing in her wings, she answered meekly, then trembled as she rose, intending to leave the occupied flower field and find somewhere else to gather.
"Not here either. We discovered the forest!"
"Not here either. We just drank from the river!"
"That's right! Don't even think about leaving! You stole our things, so you have to leave that flower basket behind!"
The three little creatures, taking delight in this, maliciously blocked Freya's path from both directions. Seeing how much this punching bag seemed to care about her little basket, they immediately rushed forward, intending to snatch away the Fae Maiden's only meager harvest.
"No! You can't have it!"
Yet when the three fae of her own kind swooped forward to fight over the basket in her arms, the usually submissive little rabbit unexpectedly stood her ground. She rose, shoved the three Winged Fae away, and desperately reclaimed her basket.
"Only this... I can't give you this..."
Retreating beneath the tree, the little fae pressed her lips together. Though her body trembled with fear, she held her treasure tightly against her chest.
"Damn it!"
