The gods struggled to stop Seferu from guiding Willpa’s main body to its terminal jump point, but her rapid healing and overwhelming power defeated their attacks. As Seferu resumed her countdown and prepared to strike, Jason and the others faced Mechanical God Zeus inside the Great Altar with no apparent chance of victory.

  • Athena, Themis, Medusa, Zeus, Artemis, and the Mesopotamian gods attacked Seferu, but she repelled them and continued counting down.
  • Ishtar threw Gugalanna at Seferu; the Bull of Heaven wounded her before she overpowered it and sent it crashing back into the sea.

  • As Athens fell, Spartan women, elders, and children formed a phalanx and advanced against the invading monsters.

Ch. 497A Desperate Trump Card

Samael reunited with the mortally wounded Jason after the Argonauts defeated Mechanical God Zeus and stopped the Star of Tears. Jason recounted how Triton’s sacrifice helped secure victory, then died after learning from Samael that he had always been a hero.

  • Samael arrived at the collapsing Great Altar and told Jason that Seferu was destroyed, the Star of Tears’ descent had failed, and their companions were alive.
  • Jason asked Samael for wine and recounted how Triton detonated the eight mechanical god cores in his body, destroying Mechanical God Zeus and giving Jason a chance to shut down the Star Ark’s core.

Samael revealed that the Divine Mark would let the dead Argo Heroes return, then joined Zeus in stopping Marduk from taking Seferu’s core. After Samael scattered its fragments, he recognized the scheme behind Seferu’s arrival as a golden figure appeared over Greece and declared its intent to rise above the gods.

  • Samael left Atlantis as the Interstellar City Mountain Range collapsed, and he reflected that the Argo Heroes’ Divine Marks would preserve them for rebirth.
  • Samael and Zeus locked gazes after the external enemy was gone, but a giant hand of light emerged from a rift and retrieved Seferu’s wreckage.

With no strength left to fight him, Greece’s gods sacrificed themselves and their authorities to empower Samael and Tiamat for one last chance at victory.

  • Marduk poured the Holy Grail’s contents through the World Wall, and its spreading corruption devastated the Greek World and drained the Olympian gods’ power.

Zeus and Samael joined forces to enter the Sea of Imaginary Numbers, where they discovered that Marduk had emptied and transformed the Mesopotamian divine kingdom. Marduk welcomed them into his claimed heaven and unleashed a forest of monstrous tentacles, beginning their final confrontation.

  • The surviving Olympian gods sacrificed their divine bodies and Authorities to Zeus, while Samael and Zeus agreed to leave each other's factions room to survive.

Marduk unleashed the Seventy-Two Demon Pillars against Samael, Zeus, Tiamat, and Typhon in the abandoned divine kingdom, then struck them with his Time of Judgment. The four gods were wounded but counterattacked as the battle continued.

  • The Seventy-Two Demon Pillars revived, attacked the four gods with Magic Beams and overlapping authorities, and began draining their strength.
  • Samael realized that Marduk had strengthened himself through faith and unified divinity, while the exhausted gods risked being worn down by the endless assault.
