Arc 1The Three-Tomoe Trial

Katsuo pursued power through relentless training, gained allies and protection within the Uchiha clan, and awakened a Three-Tomoe Sharingan. The arc left him stronger and able to enforce his will at the Academy, while his preparations for the coming war continued.

  • Katsuo recovered his father’s unpaid 12,000 ryo from Uchiha Kari and secured a Ninja Academy nomination through Uchiha Kuiko and Uchiha Feng.

Arc 2Katsuo’s Body and the Toad Oil

Katsuo’s drive to graduate early and become stronger led him to discover that the Body Tempering Elixir had damaged his body. He joined forces with Orochimaru to seek a cure at Mount Myōboku, where they found Toad Oil and learned of the rare Water of Life.

  • Katsuo defeated Uchiha Feng in a spar, then received money from Uchiha Izumi after revealing his abilities.
  • When Hiashi rallied students against Katsuo, Katsuo fought the Hyuga group and was sentenced to five days in detention, where he revealed his Three-Tomoe Sharingan to himself after resolving to rely on no one’s pity.

Arc 3The Road to Rain

Katsuo sabotaged the Chunin Exams, negotiated a path to promotion for his brother, and launched a newspaper agency while preparing for war. As he left for the Land of Rain, he gained medical training and learned to open the first four Eight Gates, but remained worried about his illness and survival.

  • Katsuo stole Uchiha Kari’s eyes, giving the Sharingan to Orochimaru as payment while the Uchiha Clan searched for the attacker.
  • Katsuo blocked the Death Forest tower, defeated several examinees including the Ino-Shika-Cho team, and burned the scrolls he took.
  • Katsuo asked the Third Hokage to create a path for his brother’s promotion, and agreed to stay out of the Chunin Exams for ten years and seek forgiveness from six clans.

Katsuo went to the Land of Rain to find Nagato, survived Hanzo and awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan after nearly dying inside Ibuse. He returned to Konoha with Konan, then joined Orochimaru in a plan to reach Mount Myōboku’s Sage Spring, leaving his eye damaged as he teleported toward it.

  • Katsuo led Uchiha forces into the Land of Rain, where they attacked Sunagakure strongholds and he earned a promotion to Chunin.
  • Katsuo traveled alone to seek a red-haired woman, but Hanzo tracked and confronted him, eventually feeding him to Ibuse.
  • A girl rescued Katsuo, and his near-death experience awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo.
  • Uchiha Sheng fought Hanzo and suffered heavy losses before Katsuo sent word that he was alive and later left with Konan.
  • Katsuo returned to the battlefield and used Susanoo to kill Hanzo’s giant Ibuse, but the Mangekyō’s strain left his body near collapse.
