In this world, besides the human-dominated realm, there was another world.
People generally called it—the Elemental Spirit World.
As the name implied, it was a world inhabited by strange creatures known as spirits.
All manner of spirits with extraordinary abilities lived in the Elemental Spirit World, and it was deeply connected to the world inhabited by humans.
Only the pure and innocent maidens among humanity could communicate with these spirits that possessed unusual powers.
These girls who could communicate with spirits were known as Shrine Maidens.
Among them, some Shrine Maidens came from families that strengthened traits such as bloodline, talent, and aptitude for communicating with spirits through generations of arranged marriages. They formed contracts with spirits and wielded their power.
People called them—Elf Users.
As Shrine Maidens who were also Elf Users, they could use the contracts they had formed with spirits to summon spirits dwelling in the Elemental Spirit World to their side, commanding them in battle or using them to assist with every aspect of daily life.
When spirits dwelling in the Elemental Spirit World were summoned into this world, they generally took two forms.
One was their primordial form.
It was a form without mass or a fixed shape, existing only as the core of divine might, known as the Core of Divine Might.
A spirit summoned in this form was not truly being summoned. Rather, only a portion of its abilities was being summoned.
