"The contract spirit of the Savior Saint?"
Walking along a sunlit avenue, Claire was startled by Noah's words.
"That Sword Elf is the contract spirit of the Savior Saint?"
"It's only a possibility." Noah waved a hand, signaling for Claire not to make such a fuss.
"But I really did dream of the Saint's final battle against the Demon King before her death. And the Saint's Spirit Armament—that silver gleaming steel sword—looked very much like the Sword Elf we encountered in the shrine."
"Sharing a spirit's dreams?" Claire tilted her head.
"Now that I think about it, that Sword Elf really might be the Savior Saint's contract spirit. I sometimes dream about happily eating canned food too. That should be Scarlett's dream."
After saying that, Claire's expression became somewhat frustrated.
"To think that the Savior Saint's contract spirit was actually in the Elf Forest of Areishia Spirit Academy. If I'd managed to form a contract with her back then..."
As she spoke, the frustration on Claire's face turned into deep unwillingness.
Having clearly seen Claire's reaction, Noah casually asked, "Why do you desire power so badly?"
Claire's steps paused imperceptibly, but she quickly resumed walking as usual. A resolute look surfaced in those crimson eyes.
"Because there's something I have to accomplish, no matter what. For that, I need powerful spirits."
"Is that so?" Noah fell silent for a while before speaking again.
"But there are many ways to pursue power. Your way gives me the dangerous feeling that you'd do anything to achieve your goal. That isn't a good thing."
"It's fine." There was not the slightest hint of hesitation in Claire's voice.
