In a corner of the lounge, Kisara sat with her head lowered, her face completely hidden beneath her long bangs. Yet her entire body radiated an air of utter dejection.
"Um..." Rentaro seemed unable to bear it and cautiously asked Noah beside him.
"Shouldn't we go comfort Miss Kisara?"
"How am I supposed to comfort her?" Noah replied helplessly.
"Right now, the moment Kisara sees my face, she'll remember that embarrassing incident. Going over to comfort her would just be rubbing salt in the wound."
"Then what do we do?" Rentaro said, at a complete loss.
"Just leave her alone?"
"Isn't leaving her alone perfectly fine?" Miori said with a smile.
"It's only Kisara. Just let her be for now, then have little Noah pick her up later."
"What do you mean, pick her up..." Noah was speechless.
"Kisara isn't my pet..."
"Is that so?" Miori said in some surprise.
"If Kisara didn't become your pet, how could she possibly have risen to her current position?"
Noah and Rentaro both gave awkward laughs.
The eldest daughter of the Sima Family truly was a remarkably vicious person...
"Anyway, don't you need to work?" Rentaro hurriedly changed the subject.
"You're in charge of all sorts of miscellaneous affairs. Shouldn't there be plenty for you to do?"
"The basic work has already been assigned. All I have left is to handle emergencies as they arise and stay in contact with my subordinates," Miori said leisurely.
"Normally, I should be accompanying Saint Tenzi to visit the representatives from each country and exchange a few pleasantries. But Saint Tenzi had me stay behind and went herself to make small talk with those representatives, so I ended up free instead."
