Looking at the photograph lying on the table, Noah and Rentaro frowned at the same time.
There was no other reason.
In the photograph, taken in a dim corner, both Sogen Saitake's back and profile had been captured clearly.
Yet the face of the person speaking with Sogen Saitake was completely obscured by Sogen Saitake himself and could not be seen at all.

"When Kisara asked me to find someone to keep an eye on Sogen Saitake, I had one of the miners stay outside the hotel where Sogen Saitake was staying, watching him almost twenty-four hours a day."
"Then, yesterday, that miner discovered Sogen Saitake slipping out of the hotel in secret. He did not bring a single bodyguard or escort with him, took a taxi to Tokyo District Twelve, and met the person in the photograph there." Zi Heng pointed at the person obscured by Sogen Saitake in the photograph.
"This photograph was taken at that time."
