In response, Noah merely said this without batting an eye.

"What? Does being a mage mean you're no longer human?"

Koneko was left speechless, unable to offer any rebuttal.

Humans naturally did not cease to be human just because they could use magic similar to demonic power.

However, mages were likewise no ordinary humans.

To Devils, humans were incredibly fragile and powerless beings.

Yet among mages, some exceptional individuals could even rival High-Class Devils.

Those were not humans Devils could regard as fragile and powerless.

Therefore, in the eyes of Devils, humans and human mages were basically two entirely different concepts.

If Rias had known Noah was a mage, she probably would not have so casually sent Koneko into the home of Noah, who might very well have been an enemy.

At once, Koneko gritted her teeth in regret.

"Though I never said I could use powers like sorcery or magic, I never really lied either. I'm just an ordinary teacher who came to Kuoh Academy to work. Does being a mage automatically mean I have to harm your Rias?"

Noah reached out and patted Koneko's incomparably smooth, pretty face.

"Rather, if I really wanted to harm your Rias, I wouldn't have used sorcery or magic so casually in front of you. I would have concealed it until I could deliver a fatal blow to Rias, and that would have settled everything."

At those words, Koneko fell silent.
