"It wasn't a contract, merely cooperation. You and I each took what we needed." An elegant voice responded.
"Are you truly determined to fight to the death? Vesefnir has decided to notify Surtalogi. You should know what will happen once he returns."
"You shouldn't be telling me that. You should be talking to Asmodeus. You and I are one now. If even you don't know what happened, naturally neither do I. But for Asmodeus to change her plans, for Vesefnir to foresee your end, and for Alice to cut ties with you—she must have absolute confidence. Surtalogi's return may well fulfill Vesefnir's prophecy."
"You—" Rhinedottir had just begun to speak when her expression abruptly changed. She immediately opened a Portal and rushed through it. Just as the Portal vanished, a spatial rift suddenly appeared within the underground chamber, and Asmodeus emerged from it.
"She ran quite fast." After sweeping her gaze over the underground chamber, Asmodeus prepared to leave.
"Asmodeus, you tore up the agreement." Just as Asmodeus was about to depart, Rhinedottir's voice echoed through the underground chamber. Asmodeus followed the sound and found a device in the corner of the wall transmitting it.
"Asmodeus, the plan has changed." Naberius's voice followed.
"Yes. All previous plans are no longer necessary. You can come back now," Asmodeus said slowly.
"I see. Then find me quickly. Oh, and they've called Surtalogi back. Be careful," Naberius continued.
"Surtalogi? Good. When he returns, I'll deal with him as well. Rhinedottir, did you think you wouldn't have to pay a price for what you've done?"
