"Why did Vermillion choose to live in a place like this, Dilfee? And walk roads like these? Is your health really all right?" The next day, the group headed toward the outskirts of Fontaine. Along the way, Lauvick was deeply worried about Dilfee's health. Vermillion lived in a small village outside Fontaine City.

Fontaine City was surrounded by water on three sides. Though there was land to the north, it was mostly mountainous terrain. Cares, Navia's father, had truly been impressive back then. Fontaine's three waterways had greatly eased its transportation problems. Unfortunately, such an idea could only be implemented in terrain like Fontaine's. There was no way to build such waterways in Inazuma—unless Shen Fei stepped in himself, of course.

"The Sea Train might have room to develop here." Fontaine's terrain reminded Shen Fei of the Sea Train from that pirate world. There were some places here where one could perhaps be built.

"Do you think Lauvick likes Dilfee?" Paimon leaned close to Lumine's ear and whispered.

"Anyone could tell." Lumine answered in a low voice. Ever since they had met Lauvick and Dilfee, Lauvick had constantly fussed over her. It was clearly beyond ordinary concern between colleagues. Dilfee, however, had always remained indifferent to Lauvick's care. Still, that was understandable.

After all, Dilfee's condition was genuinely worrying. She did not have some minor illness. Though Shen Fei had examined and confirmed it, Lauvick's words had revealed some of her circumstances.

Dilfee's illness was far worse now than it had been when she was little. Back then, she could still endure it. Now, whenever it flared up, she could not even get out of bed. Fortunately, medical science in Fontaine had improved considerably along with technological progress over the years, and medicine could keep her condition under control.
