If the Kuchiki family's estate was a vast garden, then the Tsunayashiro family's estate was a magnificent castle. Their ambition was obvious from this alone—they had always wanted to truly rule Soul Society.

During his days at the Soul Reaper Academy, Shen Fei had gained some understanding of Soul Society's nobles. This was information he had known nothing about before. After all, what he mainly knew was the Gotei 13; as for the nobles, he only knew of the Four Great Noble Families and Central 46.

Overall, Soul Society's Gotei 13 and Central 46 somewhat resembled the Navy and World Government from One Piece. The Gotei 13 was constrained by Central 46.

Speaking of which, this was all Captain-Commander Yamamoto's achievement. Over a thousand years ago, Soul Society had no Gotei 13, and naturally no Soul Reaper Academy either. Back then, Soul Society was entirely ruled by the Four Great Noble Families. It was only after an upheaval more than a thousand years ago that the Gotei 13 came into being.

The Soul Reaper Academy recorded this history, but it did not mention what exactly that upheaval had been. Shen Fei, however, had guessed it. It should have been Yhwach leading the Quincy into Soul Society.

Although Yhwach had ultimately failed, he had still severely damaged Soul Society's noble powers, especially the Four Great Noble Families. Otherwise, the Gotei 13 might not have been established at all. Of course, that was merely Shen Fei's speculation; the Soul Reaper Academy had no introduction on the matter.

"There are quite a few Soul Reapers. The nobles' strength really can't be underestimated."

After infiltrating the luxurious Tsunayashiro castle, Shen Fei quickly discovered quite a few Soul Reapers patrolling the place. Graduates of the Soul Reaper Academy did not necessarily join the Gotei 13.
