Before she was possessed by the Immortal Black Serpent, Talulah had been a true fighter. Patriot understood his own situation clearly. All he could do was shelter some of the Infected and help them survive, and even that was difficult. But Talulah could bring the Infected a better future and give them a direction to move forward.
At first, Patriot had not trusted Talulah either. It was only after seeing what she had done for the Infected that he came to believe in her and support her. For Talulah's sake, he had even stood against the Emperor's Blades.
Later, even after Talulah changed, Patriot could only tolerate her actions for the sake of the Infected's future. After all, no matter what, Talulah had still been working for the Infected at the time—at least on the surface.
