The Dying Girl

"Mm-ah~" Ye Qiu stretched lazily and looked at the Blue Silver Emperor beside him. Fortunately, he had put that horse on another stone platform. Otherwise, this little bit of grass would not even have been enough to fill its teeth!

He stroked its leaves with their golden patterns. Perhaps because Ye Qiu had absorbed the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, it was very cooperative, swaying and twisting along with his touch, looking extremely happy.

"Don't tell me you were the one talking?" Ye Qiu fiddled with it, but did not hear anything else. Was I really hearing things?

Rubbing his brow, Ye Qiu stopped dwelling on it and simply collapsed onto the ground to rest. Kamui really was convenient. He no longer had to worry about sleeping out in the wild.

While Ye Qiu slept soundly, the Blue Silver Emperor beside him emitted a faint glow. Its swaying body stretched toward him, as though it had found a family member.

"Gege... hehehe."

The tiny voice traveled into Ye Qiu's mind through Spiritual Power, but it was far too faint for the sleeping Ye Qiu to notice.

After moving about enough, the Blue Silver Emperor stopped swaying and stood quietly there.

Outside, the sky gradually began to brighten.

"Ah!"

Pfft! Bang!

A cry came from afar. The girl disguised as Voldemort had her calf crushed by an Iron Horn Rhinoceros, a Hundred-Year Spirit Beast that had come out to forage in the early morning. She was then flung through the air and smashed into the ground.

Below her chest, the frightened rhinoceros had gouged a massive hole through her with its horn. Lying on the ground, her body trembled faintly from the pain, her hair disheveled and plastered to her face with sweat.

Blood flowed freely, and her little face was pale. Her eyelids grew increasingly heavy. She did not want to die!

Some Spirit Beasts nearby had already caught the scent of blood and were slowly approaching.

Tears slid from the corners of her eyes. She had worked so, so hard to survive—why had nothing changed in the end? She refused to accept this!

Above her line of sight, a young man abruptly appeared on a tree branch, materializing out of thin air!

Light appeared in the dying girl's eyes. Maybe... I can still live.

Her lips trembled, but no sound came out.

The blood she was losing left her terribly weak;

Her instinct to survive made her struggle desperately at death's door;

Fortunately, that young man finally jumped down.

Early that morning, after giving the Blue Silver Emperor a few strokes, Ye Qiu came outside. He had originally planned to set off immediately to hunt his second Spirit Ring.

Unexpectedly, the moment he emerged, he smelled a heavy stench of blood!

After checking the area, he was shocked to discover a girl lying on the ground beneath the tree.

Spirit Beasts had already begun surrounding the area. Ye Qiu frowned. He had not wanted to meddle, but the plea in the girl's eyes softened his heart.

"Ah." With a soft sigh, Ye Qiu drifted down to the ground. Three Tomoe appeared in his eyes, and with only a glance, every Hundred-Year Spirit Beast that had approached became unable to move.

Ye Qiu crouched down and placed a hand on her neck, wanting to see whether she could still be saved.

"Fortunately, she can still be saved!"

His words rang in the girl's ears. She finally could not hold on any longer. After one last look at the young man before her, all that remained in her consciousness was a sea of blood-red. Those were a pair of strange eyes—dangerous and captivating.

She's already passed out? Ye Qiu felt somewhat uncomfortable at the sight of the mangled flesh before him. Picking her up, he vanished into the dense forest.

Just after he left, Scarred Leopard and the others arrived.

"Boss! We clearly heard screams coming from over here just now. Why is there no one here?"

"Look." Someone pointed at the blood on the ground. "Could she have already been eaten by a Spirit Beast?"

"Enough! I said it before: living, I want to see the person; dead, I want to see the body! If we don't find her, all of you will... die!" Scarred Leopard rubbed the blood on the ground between his fingers. He believed the person could not have gone far.

Using Kamui, Ye Qiu arrived at a cave he had passed earlier. He drove out the Spirit Beast inside, took out a blanket and laid it on the ground, then transported the girl out.

Judging by her figure, she was probably twelve or thirteen years old. Though her black hair and fair face were covered in mud, it was still clear that she was beautiful.

Seeing her current condition, Ye Qiu did not dare move her carelessly. He only stopped her bleeding first.

The Mysterious Heaven Skill and Right Leg Bone activated at the same time. The healing effect was not as good as when used on himself, but it was enough to stop the bleeding.

A quarter of an hour passed. The girl lying in Ye Qiu's arms fluttered her lashes and slowly opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was a head of short black hair. She had not been dreaming. She had been saved!

"Thank you for saving me." Her voice was somewhat hoarse, perhaps because she had gone too long without drinking water.

"We can talk later. Drink some water first." Ye Qiu took out a waterskin and slowly tipped it.

"Drink slowly!"

She drained all the water in the waterskin, then still stuck out her tongue to lick the mouth of it. It was obvious that she had truly been severely dehydrated.

Seeing Ye Qiu frown, her eyes carried a trace of embarrassment. She did not dare look at him. "Sorry, I was just too thirsty."

"It's fine." He calmly took back the waterskin and wiped its mouth with his sleeve.

At the sight of that, a faint blush seemed to return to the girl's pale face.

"My name is Zhu Zhuye Qing!" She gave a simple introduction, then paused at the words that had reached her lips. She did not want to expose her identity.

"Ye Qiu!"

After their brief exchange of names, Ye Qiu laid her flat on the blanket and stared at her steadily.

"Do you have medicine?"

"Hm?"

"Medicine for treating injuries!"

"Oh, yes, I do."

Following her directions, Ye Qiu successfully found her storage Soul Tool at her waist.

Looks like she has quite the background! He gave her a surprised look.

After taking out the medicine, Ye Qiu walked to one side. "Call me after you've applied the medicine."

After a moment of silence, Zhu Yeqing gritted her teeth and turned her face away. Her voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz. "Y-you apply it for me."

When Ye Qiu showed no reaction, she gathered her courage again. "Apply it for me!"

"Are you sure?"

Faced with his question, she closed her eyes and nodded with difficulty.

She knew her own injuries well. They were all over her body, and she could not even move right now.

Having received her answer, Ye Qiu did not delay. He took all sorts of tools from the Divine Might Space: a dagger, wooden boards, scissors, even a bed, and a large basin filled with water!

"Y-you! Weren't you already prepared!?" Zhu Yeqing glared at him angrily. If so, why had he bothered asking for her opinion!

The reason he had not treated her right away was also because he was afraid of causing trouble.
