After Xue Ye hinted that the academy captains would have to choose between the empire and Spirit Hall, Ye Qiu left the Great Soul Arena with Dugu Yan. Huo Wu challenged him to a fight without Martial Souls, but after he refused and easily stopped her attack, she vowed to defeat him in the promotion tournament.

• Xue Ye urged the academy youths to improve before the promotion tournament and hinted that they would need to choose between the empire and Spirit Hall.
• Ye Qiu left with Dugu Yan, and Huo Wu stopped him to speak.
• Dugu Yan teased Huo Wu, who denied wanting to thank Ye Qiu and challenged him to fight without Martial Souls.
