Raiden Ei had clearly unleashed Musou no Hitotachi with all her strength. Yet after teleporting in front of A Tuo, Morgana did not move.
Morgana was not looking down on Raiden Ei's attack, nor was she simply waiting to die. In truth, the moment she saved A Tuo, she had wanted to flee.
There was no point in fighting an unknown god here. Besides, the angels would arrive soon. If they coordinated their attacks and blasted her with Flame Judgment, that would be quite troublesome. Her injuries, which had only recently healed, might worsen again.
But Morgana discovered that she could not activate her usual Micro Wormhole teleportation. The wormholes around her were like a tangled mass of earphone wires, with someone constantly adding more wires or cutting them apart.
Morgana stood still solely because she was modifying her algorithms. Conventional Micro Wormhole algorithms were no longer workable. She had to seize that fleeting instant to teleport. At the very least, she needed to bring out the Demon Claws. If she tried to run on just two legs or one pair of wings, that unknown god across from her could truly cleave her in half with a single strike.
Raiden Ei had never been one to dwell on whatever schemes her opponent might have. During the Demon God War, her sister had been the one devising strategies. After the war, there were rarely any opponents who could withstand even one of her strikes. Even during the Khaenri'ah invasion, countless Abyss Monsters had merely relied on their numbers to keep her occupied.
Even though Raiden Ei's sixth sense as a warrior had already told her that her opponent might not be much weaker than herself, all she could do was pour everything into this strike.
The lightning that pierced the heavens ultimately condensed into a purple blade. As it descended, the entire world seemed to be sliced apart like a cream cake. All Wang Lei could see was a black spatial fissure, forcibly carved out by Ei's blade.
Yet beneath that blade, someone was still struggling to hold on. At the final moment, Morgana had managed to transport out one Demon Hand. As expected of the person in the Super God Universe who had delved deepest into spatial research—even under the Stellaron's interference, she could still manipulate wormholes.
Now, that Demon Hand was directly clashing with Raiden Ei's Musou no Hitotachi.
The Demon Hand truly deserved to be called a weapon made to rival Divine Keisha's Silver Wing. Though it had always been thoroughly suppressed by Silver Wing, it was indeed forged with a massive amount of Dark Iron Silver. Bolstered by the energy of a Fourth Generation God Body, it barely managed to withstand Musou no Hitotachi.
However, the point where the Demon Hand met Musou no Hitotachi was already being slowly cleaved apart by the violent purple lightning, and the blade was continuing to press down.
Morgana had truly fought through countless battles. Watching the strike capable of reducing her to charcoal slowly approach, her face turned fierce, but fear did not rob her of her reason.
Perhaps the lightning contained within Musou no Hitotachi was simply too violent, enough to disperse even the Stellaron's interference. Or perhaps Morgana had already calculated an algorithm that could use Micro Wormholes in this environment.
Morgana transported over the other Demon Claw as well. But instead of using that Demon Hand to attack Raiden Ei directly, she attacked Wang Lei, who was severely interfering with her spatial calculations.
Thus, Wang Lei saw another Demon Claw suddenly appear above his head and slam down at him.
Wang Lei had only needed to deal with the lightning overhead before, and he could barely endure that. But the Demon Claw was truly beyond what he could handle.
Wang Lei did not dare take it head-on. He slipped away from his position through a gap and dodged the Demon Claw. But because he could no longer maintain the calculations for his shield, Wang Lei emerged from a nearby gap and was immediately struck by Raiden Ei's falling lightning, his hair blown into an afro as he spat out a mouthful of blood on the spot.
When Ei realized that she had accidentally injured Wang Lei, she was furious that Morgana had ignored all sense of honor and bypassed her to bully him. But the first thing that came to mind was still her three former friends, all of whom had fallen, to some extent, because of her. Especially Sasayuri, whom she had sent to deal with Orobashi. Even though she had slain Orobashi afterward, she could not bring her friend back.
So Ei immediately gave up on Morgana, whom she might have been able to cut down if she held on a little longer. She withdrew Musou no Hitotachi and flashed in front of Wang Lei. Then, with a swing of Musou Isshin, she sent out a streak of purple lightning that blasted away the Demon Claw attempting to attack Wang Lei again.
But that move also freed Morgana, who had been in a perilous situation moments earlier.
Fortunately, Morgana did not continue attacking Wang Lei or Raiden Ei. She merely gave them both a deep look before activating a Micro Wormhole and leaving.
Seeing Morgana flee, Raiden Ei withdrew her terrifying presence. The thunderclouds in the sky gradually dispersed as well. When she turned to look at Wang Lei's afro and soot-covered face, the corner of her mouth twitched, and she nearly laughed.
What could Wang Lei say? In the end, he had held them back this time. Otherwise, even if Morgana could have escaped in her condition just now, she would have had to leave a few parts behind. As for A Tuo behind her, there was no way he could have survived.
Of course, A Tuo had also been holding her back. Otherwise, no matter what, Morgana would not have stood there and let Raiden Ei cut at her.
Wang Lei was not seriously injured by that bolt of lightning. His entire body felt somewhat numb, but it did not affect his movements.
So he exchanged several skewers of Tricolor Dumplings from the system and began eating on the spot. Food exchanged from the system retained its effects from the original game, except for bugged effects like restoring health by a percentage. And just like in the game, eating too much would stop working. Still, healing his current injuries was easy enough.
After eating two skewers of Tricolor Dumplings, Wang Lei felt that his injuries had basically healed. He then used Aether Encoding to restore his afro to normal and remove the soot from his face.
Only after tidying himself up did Wang Lei look again at Raiden Ei. He found her staring at the Tricolor Dumplings in his hand.
Wang Lei understood immediately and offered her the remaining skewer of Tricolor Dumplings.
"Lady Ei, these Tricolor Dumplings can heal injuries. Mine have already recovered, so you should have this one to replenish yourself. That strike just now must have consumed quite a bit of your strength."
Raiden Ei nodded, accepted the Tricolor Dumplings, and spoke as she ate.
"Mm. You're quite thoughtful."
Wang Lei did not expose the fact that Raiden Ei merely had a craving for them. Instead, he looked around.
Nearly half of Huang Village had now become ruins. Ei's lightning strikes had been indiscriminate just now. Fortunately, Wang Lei had transferred all the villagers away, so aside from the unfortunate Yu Baosheng, there should have been no other victims.
In Morgana's direction, a small mountain behind her had become concave. Like Musoujin Gorge, the depression in the mountain was filled with lightning element that could not disperse.
As for the spot where Morgana had originally stood—the path of lightning element that had nearly condensed into solid form was proof enough of just how much power Raiden Ei had used in that strike.
Seeing this, Wang Lei suggested to Ei, "Lady Ei, the villagers will eventually return to this village. Could you disperse this lightning element for them?"
Raiden Ei nodded and waved her hand. The lightning element covering the ground dispersed on its own.
However, the lightning element on the distant mountain did not disappear. According to Raiden Ei, since she had taken action, she naturally had to leave behind something for others to gaze upon her divine might.
Naturally, Wang Lei did not object. He only hoped that mountain was not one someone had leased to grow fruit. Though even if it was, it would not be too much of a problem. If nothing could be grown there anymore, at least it could serve as a tourist attraction.
