Wang Lei had no objections to Raiden Ei wanting to meet Angel Yan. There was no way the angels could fail to notice that he had used Ether Teleportation to send so many villagers into Tianhe City. A brief investigation would reveal that it was his doing, and they would certainly come knocking soon.
So Wang Lei asked Raiden Ei to keep his secret, while also hoping she would not expose Teyvat.
As Inazuma's deity, Ei naturally was not ignorant of such matters. She understood how dangerous it was to expose herself to an unknown civilization. Besides, everything she had learned today would count as Forbidden Knowledge in Teyvat.
Once she returned to Teyvat, she had to keep it all secret from everyone, including the Raiden Shogun. She absolutely could not let the Heavenly Principles learn that she already knew of the secrets beyond this world.
Sure enough, less than an hour later, someone knocked on the door. Wang Lei saw that it was Angel Yan and Angel Chase. It seemed they had already conducted an on-site investigation. Otherwise, given the angels' arrogance, they would have simply opened the door and barged in.
Wang Lei tacitly welcomed the two inside.
The moment Angel Yan and Angel Chase saw Raiden Ei sitting on the sofa, they put on polished, professional smiles.
"Wang Lei, you have another guest here. Why don't you introduce her to your sisters?"
Wang Lei walked straight over to Ei and gestured toward her.
"This is Raiden Ei, the Narukami of Inazuma. Her full title is Narukami Ogosho. You came because of what happened in Huang Village, right? Then I'll be honest. Morgana descended there. I couldn't beat her, so I had to ask Ei to drive her away. Oh, and Ei cut off a piece of Demon Claw. It's behind the bar."
Raiden Ei immediately rolled her eyes at Wang Lei and said coolly, "You don't need to call me by such a long name. Wang Lei, just call me Ei from now on. And don't add any honorifics."
Then she added to Angel Yan and Angel Chase, "The same goes for you. According to Wang Lei, both of you are older than I am."
Naturally, Wang Lei did not hold back.
"Alright, Ei. Those two are Angel Yan and Angel Chase of the angel race. Angel Yan is the angel I told you about—the one who's over seven thousand years old."
The moment Wang Lei brought up her age, Angel Yan rolled her eyes at him too, clearly displeased.
"What do you mean, Wang Lei? Is seven thousand years old that old? Among angels, I can still be considered part of the younger generation."
Angel Chase snickered behind Yan. It was easy to imagine just how reluctantly Yan qualified as part of the younger generation.
Angel Yan ignored her best friend's betrayal and immediately went behind the bar to pick up the metal finger segment. She said in disbelief, "God, it really is a Demon Claw—and it was cut off. This was made primarily from Dark Iron Silver, the hardest material in the known universe."
Ei was now ninety percent convinced that angels could resist erosion. Yan was seven thousand years old, yet her personality was still like that of a young girl. If that was what erosion looked like, then Ei herself would have already been worn down into a needle. Still, she could not help asking, "Angel Yan, I have a question. Could you answer it for me?"
Angel Yan had now basically confirmed that this Raiden Ei was a god. She just did not know what generation of god she was. But someone who could slice through Dark Iron Silver and drive away Morgana was absolutely no weaker than a Third Generation Super Soldier.
Therefore, Angel Yan showed Ei a level of respect she never showed Wang Lei. She did not dare act flippantly and answered seriously, "Please ask. But I won't answer anything classified."
Ei nodded bluntly and asked, "Why are you so weak despite being seven thousand years old? You feel about as strong as Wang Lei to me. He's only in his twenties, while I'm only a little over five thousand."
Angel Chase instantly choked, covered her mouth, turned her head aside, and trembled as she desperately tried not to laugh.
Angel Yan looked utterly embarrassed. If anyone else had said that, she would have snapped right back. But the person before her was an unknown deity—and one who could defeat Morgana. Thinking of the lightning power lingering on that mountain peak, Angel Yan felt the hairs on her body stand on end. She did not doubt for a second that someone like Ei would lie about her age, so she could only force herself to explain, "Ei, an angel's age is not proportional to her strength. And there are many angels stronger than me."
Ei nodded, accepting that explanation. She did not rush to ask how angels were immune to erosion. She believed Wang Lei would explain that to her later. So she stood, took the small piece of Demon Claw from Angel Yan's hand, and said to Wang Lei, "Wang Lei, send me back first. I've been away for rather a long time. Call me again if anything comes up."
Wang Lei understood that Ei was afraid she might say something she should not, so he readily went along with it. "Alright, Ei. See you later."
With that, he used the system's return function to send Ei back to Teyvat.
The moment Ei left, Angel Yan and Angel Chase both breathed sighs of relief. Having a top-tier deity in front of them had been far too stressful. Their Queen Keisha was not here, and Ei could have killed them as easily as playing a game. Fortunately, this deity seemed fairly kind.
But now that the person capable of threatening them was gone, Angel Yan immediately reverted to her usual self and began teasing Wang Lei again.
She pressed right up against Wang Lei, made him sit on the sofa, and sat down tightly beside him.
"Wang Lei, you really kept me in the dark. You clearly have a deity backing you, yet you said you couldn't deal with the gods. You can even drive away Morgana. Wouldn't beating Taotie be as easy as playing around?"
Wang Lei felt that Angel Yan should try leaning against him without her armor on. Right now, he did not feel any feminine softness at all—her armor was digging into him painfully instead. He could only grit his teeth and say, "She only came to help. And calling her over comes at a cost. Morgana was worth that price. Taotie... forget it, I'm out of money. No, I mean I'm out of energy. How about you provide me with some energy, Sister Angel Yan? Not much—just the energy of one or two stars. From then on, anything involving angels will be my business. If angels need help, I'll definitely help."
The moment Angel Yan heard that he wanted the energy of two stars, she said she could not afford it. If she had that much energy, she would have upgraded herself to a divine body long ago. Queen Keisha forbade the exploitative use of stellar energy, and Yan had no means of drawing upon stellar energy anyway.
So Angel Yan decisively changed the subject. She leaned close to Wang Lei's ear and breathed warmly against it. "What can a Third Generation Super Soldier like you do to help angels? Still, you've upgraded pretty quickly. It's only been a few days, and you're already third generation? Last time, you said that once you could defeat me, you'd throw me onto the bed and make me your bed-warming maid. Want to try today?"
Wang Lei felt his ears turning red, but he absolutely could not lose to Angel Yan in a battle of words. He replied directly, "Forget it. I already fought that demon called A Tuo today, and I witnessed a battle between Fourth Generation Gods. I really don't have any strength left. By the way, Angel Yan, are you sure you still want to use the title Thunder War God? Ei just now was the genuine Thunder God."
Angel Yan was instantly speechless again. With Ei around, how could she dare call herself the Thunder War God anymore? She would have to change that title later, or she would only make herself a laughingstock.
