After attending the meeting at Super God Academy, Wang Lei returned to his little restaurant and continued living a relatively peaceful life.
Meanwhile, the Super Soldier Company, just as in the original story, had moved to the Juxia to continue their training. Both sides carried on with their old routines as though nothing had happened.
Well, some things were different. After the government verified that the Room-Temperature Superconducting Material Wang Lei had provided was genuine, the military sent someone to deliver him a gun permit, an experimental electromagnetic pistol, and a letter of thanks. Though Wang Lei had no real use for guns, the permit was better than nothing.
The electromagnetic pistol, however, was a pretty nice toy. It could even leave a small dent in Wang Lei's Interstellar Peace Corporation mass-produced police Exoskeleton—provided its shields were down, of course.
Though the pistol was nothing more than a toy against Wang Lei's current physical strength, once the Taotie and their Giant Wolf Star People invaded in the future, firing a few extra shots could at least break through their defenses. At the very least, the impact was enough to knock them back briefly, so they would not be too lazy to even block a little handgun.
Earth was now in its final calm before the storm. Neither the demons nor the Taotie had made any moves, and there was not even the slightest shadow of war hanging over the planet.
Wang Lei was bored enough to consider whether he should take advantage of his still-abundant Energy Points to scout out the Star Rail World. He could try to establish a connection with Asta and use things from other worlds to buy a Star Destroyer.
Exchanging for a Star Destroyer through the system was simply too expensive. Wang Lei had already decided that he would go to Liyue later and find a way to learn the Inner World Immortal Technique. If he could not learn it, then so be it—he could not chew more than he could swallow. He would not exchange for such a purely logistical spell.
If that did not work, he could splurge and directly exchange for the largest-capacity Serenitea Pot in the system. Then he could place the Star Destroyer inside the Serenitea Pot and bring it into the Super God Universe. After that, he could truly become an interstellar merchant.
Just as Wang Lei browsed the system's exchange items and considered what might interest Asta enough for a long-term partnership, the restaurant door was suddenly pushed open. As the visitor walked in, she said, "So this is Juxia City's best-reviewed private restaurant? The kind that only serves VIP customers, where you cannot even get a reservation? Hmm, the decor really is nice."
The moment Wang Lei heard the voice, he knew the visitor definitely did not have a VIP card. None of the people he had given one to had a voice that seductive.
Without even looking up, he said, "Miss, just as you said, this place is only open to VIPs... If you aren't a VIP, then you—"
Wang Lei froze halfway through his sentence when he looked up.
The woman across from him was not doing much better. The instant she saw Wang Lei, she stiffened as well.
The visitor was naturally Liangbing, who was experiencing life on Earth. That morning, she had gone to Beautiful Country and chatted with the president, only to be thoroughly disappointed.
After that, she had gone to the Middle East to meet a major warlord, only to be even more disappointed. So at noon, she had wanted to find a well-reviewed restaurant for a good meal to improve her mood. Instead, she had ended up in Wang Lei's restaurant.
Feeling explosively awkward, Liangbing directly entered Dark Dimension communications and snapped, "A Tai, what kind of restaurant did you recommend to your Queen? Why is Wang Lei the owner?!"
Inside Demon One, A Tai, who was in charge of system operations, was drenched in sweat. He had heard about how the Queen had been sniped by this Wang Lei after landing on Earth. He said awkwardly, "Queen, I didn't know! There are more than forty-seven thousand people in Hua Xia with the same name, Wang Lei. Besides, what kind of god holes up in a small restaurant as its owner? According to the records, this restaurant's owner is also the chef. I really didn't know this Wang Lei was the Wang Lei who sniped you, Queen."
A Tuo could no longer sit still aboard Demon One. He was one of the people who knew best just how terrifying Wang Lei was, and even now, he still had not figured out how he had lost that day.
He immediately used a Micro Wormhole to teleport into Wang Lei's restaurant, drew his new Dark Iron Greatsword, and pointed it directly at Wang Lei. He was terrified that Wang Lei might suddenly attack and hurt his Queen.
A Tuo was over two meters tall, and with that enormous headdress of his, he smashed straight into the ceiling light in Wang Lei's restaurant and broke it.
Wang Lei immediately activated spatial interference through Stellaron energy to prevent more demons from teleporting in. Then, with a quantum analysis, he teleported the greatsword in A Tuo's hand behind the bar and said coldly, "That ceiling light cost 9,998 yuan. No weapons are allowed to be waved around in my restaurant, so I'm confiscating yours. And if you break anything else in here, I'll teleport you naked onto the street and let everyone see Morgana's chief general running around in the buff."
A Tuo panicked when his weapon was confiscated so easily. But before he could speak, Liangbing in front of him raised a hand to stop him and said to Wang Lei, "I didn't expect you to have improved so much after only a few days. That analysis-and-teleport move of yours just now was not much worse than mine. Your interference capabilities are even stronger. By the way, are you here alone? That Raiden Ei isn't around?"
Wang Lei gave a cold laugh as he wiped a glass. "Don't worry, Lady Ei isn't here. But Queen Morgana, do you want to see her? I can call her over again."
The moment Liangbing heard that Ei was not around, she visibly relaxed. She walked up to the bar, sat across from Wang Lei, and said boldly, "You can call me Liangbing when I look like this. Wang Lei, you own a restaurant, right? Hurry up and make me something to eat. I'll pay."
After saying that, Liangbing tried to use a Micro Wormhole to bring over a pile of cash, only to discover that her Micro Wormhole had failed again. The algorithm she had modified last time to force her way through the interference might as well have been fake. In the end, she could only say awkwardly, "Uh, you take cards and mobile payments here, right?"
A Tuo carefully rose into a half-crouch behind Liangbing. He glared fiercely at Wang Lei, looking ready to attack at the slightest disagreement.
Wang Lei glanced at Morgana's number-one bootlicker, A Tuo, and decided to have some fun with him. He directly analyzed him and performed a ten-centimeter quantum teleport, moving him into the seat beside Liangbing. Afterward, he said, "You may be unwelcome guests, but guests are still guests once they come through the door. If you want to eat, listen to me. Sit down, both of you. And be careful with your hands and feet."
Then he poured each of them a glass of Soda Bean Juice.
Seeing that he had been seated beside the Queen, A Tuo hurriedly tried to stand, but Wang Lei immediately suppressed him. Every time he tried to rise, his legs simply would not respond.
Liangbing, however, noticed her subordinate's predicament. She patted him and said nonchalantly, "What, are there nails around your Queen? A Tuo, you can't even sit still?"
A Tuo immediately stopped struggling. When he scanned the drink Wang Lei had poured, he flew into a rage. "Wang Lei! You're making the Queen drink this? Are you provoking us?"
Wang Lei replied indifferently, "Any unwelcome guest who comes in with a fake VIP card has to drink this. The last person I served this to was Angel Yan."
The moment A Tuo heard that even Angel Yan had drunk it, he was rendered speechless. But there was no way he could let his Queen drink this stuff. He decisively grabbed both glasses, one in each hand, and gulped them both down.
Wang Lei was dumbfounded. A Tuo really was a warrior. To someone not used to Soda Bean Juice, it tasted about as bad as pig slop, yet he had chugged two whole glasses. Wang Lei decided not to mention that Angel Yan had ultimately not drunk any of it, lest he provoke him further.
