Chapter Summaries

Wang Lei escaped the Luofu blockade with Jingliu and tried to recruit her by revealing a possible weapon against Yaoshi. He restored her memories and emotions and made her Mara-Struck Body controllable, but Jingliu remained committed to her original plan and did not agree to leave with him.

• Wang Lei carried Jingliu through the Cloud Knights' blockade using Micro Wormholes and brought her to the Construction Bureau.
• Jingliu proposed hiring Wang Lei to help with her and Rakshasa's plans, and Wang Lei deduced they sought a weapon tied to death to oppose Abundance.
• Wang Lei showed Jingliu a fragment of Yaoshi's root and described a separate fragment imbued with the power of The Hunt that might serve as a weapon against Yaoshi.
• Jingliu's Mara-Struck Body reacted violently to the root fragment, so Wang Lei used Void Suppression to calm her and offered to restore her memories and emotions.
• Wang Lei made Jingliu a Gene Engine medicine using her biological samples and Primordial Sea Water; after drinking it, Jingliu regained her memories and positive emotions and could control her Mara-Struck Body.

Wang Lei brought Jingliu to the Luofu crisis and arranged for her to appear openly as an ally, hoping her deeds would help clear her wanted status. After learning that Gui Zhong and Shenhe had gone to the Alchemy Commission, Wang Lei and Jingliu set out to join the coming battle there.

• Master Gongshu recognized Jingliu as the Unblemished Flying Light and agreed to report her appearance to Jing Yuan.
• Master Gongshu told Wang Lei that Gui Zhong and Shenhe had joined the Astral Express Group and gone to the Alchemy Commission, where the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus were identified as Luofu's collaborators.
• Wang Lei obtained a star skiff to the Alchemy Commission and prepared to enter the battle with Jingliu as reinforcements.

Wang Lei and Jingliu fought their way through the Alchemy Commission, reunited with Fu Xuan and Gui Zhong, and learned that Gui Zhong had tamed the Abundance Black Deer. Wang Lei sent Durin into Scalegorge Waterscape to attack the Ambrosial Arbor’s roots, alarming the Luofu Vidyadhara and prompting them to summon Bailu.

• Jingliu and Wang Lei entered the devastated Alchemy Commission, where Jingliu deduced that the Secret Teachings of Yaoshi had used medicinal mist to trigger Mara-Struck transformations.
• Jingliu and Wang Lei fought through Abundance creatures and Mara-Struck soldiers, then met a veteran Cloud Knight who recognized Jingliu and asked whether her Mara had been cured.
• Wang Lei found Fu Xuan and Gui Zhong with the Abundance Black Deer, which Gui Zhong had named Xuanqing and tamed; Fu Xuan accepted that it posed no threat to the Luofu.

• Wang Lei’s group shut down the medicinal mist furnaces, cleared the mist, and joined Fu Xuan’s forces in surrounding Dan Shu at the Cloudglow Purple Mansion.
• Wang Lei secretly warned Jingliu and Gui Zhong that Tingyun was suspicious, and they helped position themselves around her while Fu Xuan confronted Dan Shu.
• Dan Shu transformed into her Dew-Bearing Celestial form, but Fu Xuan and the Astral Express Group defeated her and her remaining subordinates.

Dan Heng revealed his Imbibitor Lunae form and fought alongside Yanqing against Blade until Kafka stopped the battle and Yanqing was defeated. Jing Yuan arrived, agreed to lift Dan Heng’s Expulsion Order if they dealt with Huan Long, and Wang Lei assembled the group for the coming fight.

• Dan Heng transformed into Imbibitor Lunae, and Yanqing challenged him and Blade while Jingliu and Wang Lei watched.
• Kafka released Blade’s restraints, and Blade’s attack destroyed Yanqing’s sword formation and knocked him from the air.
• Bailu stepped in to protect Yanqing, and Kafka stopped everyone with her Charm Technique as Jing Yuan arrived.
• Jing Yuan let Kafka and Blade leave, and Wang Lei persuaded Dan Heng to help while promising to handle any questions about his past.
• Jing Yuan said he would revoke Dan Heng’s Expulsion Order and separate him from Dan Feng if they resolved the crisis, and Wang Lei gathered the team to face Huan Long.

Wang Lei and the others reached Scalegorge Waterscape, where Dan Heng parted the Scalesource Sea and revealed that the Ambrosial Arbor was consuming the rebirth eggs of the Vidyadhara. As Wang Lei and Dan Heng held back its roots, Gui Zhong offered to stop them so the group could confront Huan Long without Jing Yuan risking his life alone.

• Bailu treated the wounded Cloud Knights while Jing Yuan formally asked the Astral Express crew and Wang Lei’s group to help defeat Huan Long.
• Jingliu declared that she would follow Wang Lei after the crisis, and Dan Heng agreed to open the road to the Ambrosial Arbor as a Vidyadhara.
• Dan Heng parted the Scalesource Sea, revealing that the Ambrosial Arbor’s roots had destroyed many Vidyadhara eggs; Wang Lei attacked the roots with lightning, and Dan Heng strengthened the storm.

• Gui Zhong used the Abundance Black Deer to make the Ambrosial Arbor roots retreat, allowing Wang Lei and Jing Yuan to calm the crisis and organize the assault on Huan Long.
• Fu Xuan stayed behind to guard the passage, while Shenhe joined the expedition after Wang Lei gave her a Herrscher Core of the Void for emergency escape.

• Stelle switched to Preservation form and piloted the Creation Engine Wang Lei dropped into the battle, crushing many manifested Suiyang.
• Dan Heng struck Huan Long with an Imaginary water dragon infused with the power of Permanence, disrupting her mind and stopping her from creating more Abundance Black Lotuses.
• Huan Long transformed into her Destruction state and tried to form an electromagnetic black hole, but Wang Lei used his imitation of lightning authority to stop her.
• Huan Long summoned Annihilation Dark Lotuses and sent lightning attacks at the group while inviting the Suiyang to take new bodies.
• Jingliu emerged from hiding and used an icefall to disperse the Suiyang before they could enter the Annihilation Dark Lotuses.
• Huan Long decided not to split off more Suiyang and prepared to continue fighting the group herself.

Jingliu and Jing Yuan explained how to fight the Suiyang core inside Huan Long, while Wang Lei unleashed unstable powers from Lan and Nanook that badly wounded her. Huan Long revealed her hidden mobility, entered her third phase, and swallowed Wang Lei whole.

• Jingliu dispersed the Suiyang minions and explained their vulnerability, while Jing Yuan told Wang Lei how Path power could force a Suiyang out of its host.
• Wang Lei attacked Huan Long with Imaginary Number Energy spears, and Huan Long tried to sow discord by blaming him for taking the Ambrosial Arbor Fruit; Dan Heng defended Wang Lei and rallied the group against her.
• Huan Long used Annihilation Dark Lotuses and Destruction-powered roots to trap the ground fighters, while Stelle used the Creation Engine to protect March 7th, Welt, and Shenhe.
• Wang Lei summoned power from Nanook and Lan, burning away Huan Long's roots and piercing her with Hunt arrow fragments, but Huan Long dodged his next attack.

Shenhe, Welt, Stelle, March 7th, Dan Heng, Jingliu, and Jing Yuan overwhelmed Huan Long while Wang Lei fought her from inside after she swallowed him. Wang Lei escaped just as Jing Yuan impaled Huan Long’s abdomen, and he sent Jing Yuan the location of her true body so the attack would hit its mark.

• Huan Long swallowed Wang Lei, while Shenhe froze Huan Long’s leg and Welt pinned her with a pseudo-black hole.
• Stelle, March 7th, Dan Heng, and Jingliu restrained and battered Huan Long, while Wang Lei resisted her attacks from inside her body.
• Huan Long entered Wang Lei’s World Bubble to seize his body, but Wang Lei drained her power and forced her out after she threatened to self-destruct.
• Huan Long’s twisted Suiyang energy exploded inside her, and Wang Lei escaped through the gap as Jing Yuan drove the Lordly General’s spear into her abdomen.
• Wang Lei formed a team with Jing Yuan and sent him Huan Long’s true-body location, telling him to aim and stab.

Jing Yuan destroyed Huan Long’s Ambrosial Arbor body, and Wang Lei helped the injured Astral Express companions recover before securing the Stellaron. When they left the cavern, they found the Vidyadhara confronting Gui Zhong, and Wang Lei intervened as Fu Xuan explained the dispute.

• Jing Yuan pierced Huan Long’s core with the Lordly General, destroying her Ambrosial Arbor body, while Huan Long escaped as a weak flame and taunted the victors.
• Shenhe and Dan Heng checked on Wang Lei, who then healed Stelle and March 7th; Stelle fed March 7th an energy drink mouth-to-mouth, and Wang Lei embarrassed March 7th with a photo.
• Wang Lei retrieved the Stellaron from the Ambrosial Arbor roots, and Welt sealed it in a container.
• Jing Yuan led the group out of the cavern, where Wang Lei found Fu Xuan and Yanqing facing agitated Vidyadhara near Gui Zhong.

Wang Lei forced the Dragon Master Council to back down after Durin threatened them, then used Bailu’s promise of five favors to arrange the removal of her Ruler-Wood Restraints and prepare her to reseal the Ambrosial Arbor. The chapter left Bailu examining Primordial Sea Water and asking to study it instead of drinking it, while Wang Lei and Jing Yuan suspected the Dragon Masters had colluded with Huan Long and the Secret Teachings of Yaoshi.

• Wang Lei ordered Durin to threaten the bound and injured Dragon Masters with Corrosion Breath, and Jing Yuan intervened to prevent a massacre.
• Wang Lei demanded that the Dragon Masters undergo karmic sin assessment, but Bailu offered to apologize to Gui Zhong and agreed to grant Wang Lei up to five favors in exchange for their release.
• Wang Lei privately told Jing Yuan that the Dragon Masters were connected to Huan Long and the Secret Teachings of Yaoshi, then said he needed Bailu’s High Elder power to reseal the Ambrosial Arbor.

• Wang Lei rejected the Dragonheirs’ hopes that half a bottle of Primordial Sea Water could solve Vidyadhara reproduction, warned against seeking Yaoshi, and suggested consulting Ruan Mei.
• Shao Ying asked Wang Lei to provide more Primordial Sea Water, but Wang Lei refused to give up his supply and criticized the Dragonheirs for suppressing Bailu with Ruler-Wood Restraints.
• Wang Lei revealed that Bailu was the first new Vidyadhara life born without Permanence’s protection, prompting the Cloud Knights to reconsider Dan Feng’s legacy and Bailu’s place as High Elder.

Wang Lei later brought Bailu to the Astral Express, where Rakshasa’s arrival stirred Welt’s suspicions, before Kafka summoned Wang Lei to help control Blade after he saw Bailu and Dan Heng together.

• Dan Heng and Bailu used their combined Vidyadhara power to restore the Ambrosial Arbor’s seal, and Bailu excitedly asked Dan Heng to teach her more techniques.
• Wang Lei and Jing Yuan made clear that Dan Heng could choose his own path, and Jing Yuan promised to revoke his Expulsion Order and let him visit the Luofu as a Nameless.

• Nancy urgently called Wang Lei back to Herta Space Station, saying Herta, Screwllum, and Ruan Mei wanted to see him after rumors about his powers spread across the universe.
• Wang Lei found Nancy and Himeko learning from Screwllum, then met Herta, who asked him for Aeon power and questioned him about Huan Long’s claims.
• Wang Lei told Herta that he could exchange energy for Path power but denied that he carried a world or an Ambrosial Arbor Fruit.
• Herta introduced Wang Lei to Ruan Mei, who reached for his neck to study his biology and asked, “dear,” if she could touch him.

Wang Lei negotiated an exchange with Ruan Mei, offering his knowledge of Cthulhu legends in return for her research on a mysterious many-eyed creature. Their discussion left Ruan Mei preparing her research materials and Herta planning to investigate Ancient Beasts in the Simulated Universe.

• Ruan Mei explained that she wanted to study Wang Lei because his blood appeared ordinary despite his power, and she had detected unusual genes in Nancy and Himeko.
• Wang Lei refused to become Ruan Mei's test subject but offered blood and tissue samples in exchange for something valuable.
• Ruan Mei showed Wang Lei a many-eyed creature, and he identified it as a Shoggoth associated with the Cthulhu Mythos and warned of its mental contamination.

After returning to the Herta Space Station, Wang Lei heard Nancy’s report on her negotiations with the Interstellar Peace Corporation and her plan to acquire a habitable planet. He agreed that Jarilo-VI could become their base and promised Nancy they would discuss their relationship after returning to her home world.

• Nancy reported that she had negotiated standard prices with Topaz and bought a large Star Destroyer with the proceeds.
• Nancy recounted how she and Himeko had defeated officials’ sons and their hired Path Walkers on Azure Star.
• Nancy proposed acquiring a planet as their base, and Wang Lei suggested Jarilo-VI, whose government faced a huge debt to the Interstellar Peace Corporation.
• Wang Lei explained that he could offer the Corporation something rare in exchange for help resolving Jarilo-VI’s debt, and Nancy began planning the planet’s development.
• Wang Lei sent Nancy back to her room and promised to discuss marrying her after they returned to her home world; Nancy left after reminding him to keep his promise.

Wang Lei and Nancy returned to Jarilo-VI and encountered Topaz collecting Belobog’s inherited debt for the Interstellar Peace Corporation. After Bronya explained that Belobog acknowledged the debt but could not afford it, Wang Lei offered to negotiate reduced interest and installment payments.

• Wang Lei returned to the Luofu, then arranged for the Astral Express to take him, Nancy, Stelle, and March 7th to Jarilo-VI while Dan Heng, Gui Zhong, and Shenhe stayed behind.
• The Astral Express crew spotted an Interstellar Peace Corporation Star Destroyer in orbit, and Bronya warned them about the Warm Sun Festival before Stelle and March 7th sent her a picture of the ship.
• Wang Lei and his group met Topaz outside Belobog and learned she was delivering Nancy’s Star Destroyer while also collecting a debt from Jarilo-VI.
• Topaz confronted Bronya in Klippah Fortress, demanding repayment of the City Builders’ old loan, and Bronya admitted that Belobog accepted responsibility but could not afford the enormous total.

• Wang Lei took Stelle and March 7th to find Topaz, tracking her from the museum through the Underworld until they found her facing Gepard and Automaton Soldiers in Rivet Town.
• Topaz explained that her backup proposal would waive Jarilo-VI’s debt if its residents became Interastral Peace Corporation employees, while Wang Lei proposed removing the compounded interest from the loan.
• Wang Lei returned to Klippah Fortress, where Bronya was discussing Topaz’s proposal with Cocolia and the council.
• Cocolia asked Wang Lei to buy Jarilo-VI and erase its debt; Wang Lei offered to unseal the planet and clear the debt in exchange for seventy percent mineral ownership, policy veto power, a share of trade profits, tax exemption, and legal immunity.
