"Idiot son, don't panic over such trivial matters in the future. You're the First Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates!"
After taking the newspaper Marco held high, Whitebeard casually punched him on the head, then slowly read the report about Mo Xingchen and burst into laughter.
"Gurararararara! A strong man raised his blade against someone even stronger! An incredible brat has appeared in the Marines!"
"Old Man, what do we do next?"
The other division commanders had also finished reading the news. Hearing their Old Man praise a Marine so highly, they began asking questions.
"Gurararararara! Of course we throw a feast! There's nothing to worry about, my idiot sons. I'm Whitebeard!"
"Roar!"
As Whitebeard watched his idiot sons below grow lively, he quietly reflected. Ever since Mo Xingchen's actions at the Sabaody Archipelago had been exposed, the Great Pirates of the seas had taken notice of this new Marine. Some feared him, while others did not care. Whitebeard, meanwhile, wondered when his idiot sons would be able to stand on their own. Perhaps he should try making this Marine rookie his son. Gurararararara!
On the beach of an unknown island somewhere in the East Blue, a red-haired young man in a straw hat and a cold-looking young man carrying a long sword sat around a campfire, roasting food.
"Mihawk, I can't spar with you anymore. I'm heading out to sea to find my crew and form my pirate crew!"
The future Shichibukai and World's Greatest Swordsman, Mihawk, glanced at the photograph of Mo Xingchen in the newspaper Shanks had just set down and spoke indifferently.
"Feeling pressured?"
"You've seen this man too, right? He was there in Loguetown on the day my Captain was executed, the one who asked about the One Piece. I thought he would become an ambitious man, but I never expected him to join the Marines."
"If you run into him, you'll be arrested."
The moment Shanks heard that, he snapped. His face reddened as he fired back without hesitation.
"Hilarious. He uses a blade too, right? So! Can you beat him, future World's Greatest Swordsman?"
"I'm not becoming a pirate, so I won't be arrested anyway. Who can say what the future holds?"
"You *%#$&..."
Windmill Village, small tavern.
"Grandpa, Grandpa! Brother Mo became a Marine colonel!"
Little Makino excitedly burst through the tavern doors, waving the newspaper as she hurriedly tried to share the joyful news with her grandfather.
"Slow down. Don't bump into the guests!"
The old man lectured her while taking the newspaper she handed over. Seeing Mo Xingchen in the paper wearing a Marine Justice Coat and looking full of vigor, he laughed loudly.
"Hahahaha! That brat's pretty capable after all!"
"Say, Makino, what are you and your grandfather so happy about? Tell us too!"
"Yeah, tell everyone!"
The tavern guests began clamoring, raising bottles and glasses.
"My Brother Mo defeated lots of Great Pirates! He's a Marine colonel now! Impressive, right? Here, there's a newspaper. Take a look!"
Makino began enthusiastically explaining it all to everyone, waving her arms around as though she herself had joined the Marines and captured pirates. A child's happiness was just that simple.
"Whoa! Isn't that young Mo? I've even had drinks with him!"
"Old Eggplant, what are you showing off for? When young Mo worked at the tavern, he was so nice. It's not like nobody else ever drank with him."
"Exactly. Who here hasn't had a drink with young Mo? What's there to brag about? He even ate at my house!"

"...taught me the Demon Subduing Invincible Vajra Fist!"
"...caught wild boars with me."
"...chopped up pirates with me!"
The old shopkeeper stood behind the counter with a smile at the corner of his lips, polishing a glass as he watched the guests boast over one another. Their stories grew more and more outrageous, and Makino refused to be outdone as she joined in.
Meanwhile, Mo Xingchen, the center of this news storm, was living an incredibly comfortable life. The Elite Training Camp members had left, so every day he led retired old Marines in tai chi on the training grounds. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would spar with Admiral Zephyr and Garp.
And just like that, he had slipped into Borsalino's office again, where the two slackers began competing over who was worse.
"Little Mo, I've found myself liking you more and more!"
Borsalino sat in his chair with his two 1.8-meter-long legs propped on the desk, trimming his neat fingernails with a tiny clipper. With a crooked mouth and a lecherous expression, he said,
"Sir, I'll report you for sexual harassment!"
Mo Xingchen drank tea by himself, his face full of disdain.
"Seriously, ever since you came to headquarters, I've noticed that Fleet Admiral Kong hasn't scolded me for being lazy these past few days. Whenever he's about to criticize me, I just mention your name, and he goes speechless and tells me to get lost. So I've decided you're my brother!"
"So that's why Old Man Kong has been glaring at me and scolding me so much lately! It got so bad I didn't even dare go to his office to mooch off his good tea! Turns out the reason was you!"
Mo Xingchen suddenly understood and slapped the table, pointing at him in angry accusation.
"Tell me, how are you going to compensate me? Comfort this wounded heart of mine!"
"Scary. I heard a massage parlor opened in town recently. Want to go after work?"
"Eww, so that's what you're into! Disgraceful! I deeply despise you! You call this testing an officer? I, Mo, am irreconcilable with gambling and drugs!" Mo Xingchen was initially filled with righteous indignation, but in the next second, his expression changed as he gradually became more Kizaru-like. "How about we skip work and go right now?"
And so the two set off on an impromptu trip! Looking at the row of women before him, each more burly and muscular than Admiral Zephyr, Mo Xingchen fell into deep thought. Fuck! This is it?
Seeing Mo Xingchen's masterful face-changing act, Borsalino could not help explaining.
"It really is pretty good. My beloved subordinates recommended this place to me. They said the massages here are excellent!"
"This officer likes it rough! Give me the strongest one!"
With the mindset of already being here anyway, Mo Xingchen hated his own filthy tendency to immediately get the wrong idea. He had only himself to blame for overthinking it; this world was not so subtle. A massage really was just a massage!
"Oh~~"
"Ow~~~~"
"Hiss~~ Ah!!!!"
"Whew~~~ Comfortable! Borsalino, you weren't kidding. That felt really good!"
"Scary! Just now, I thought I was about to die!"
Afterward, the two strange uncles lay in the shop's hot spring, drinking wine and eating pastries. They were truly enjoying themselves!
(Sorry! I've really been too busy these past few days. First, the old man at home had his birthday celebration. Then kidney stones hurt me so badly I felt half-dead, and I had to get an IV at the hospital.)
