The "Faerun plane Guardian Alliance" was established in Mithril Royal City, the core city of the Kalamus Empire. This alliance, which had been formed at an almost unbelievably rapid pace, began proclaiming the core ideals of justice and goodness from the moment it came into existence. According to its own rhetoric, the enemy it now faced was the "Abyssal army" invading "all of Faerun" (though it had actually only invaded the Kalamus Empire), while the great mission bestowed upon it by "history and justice" was, beyond all doubt, to "save the world"...
This was undoubtedly an absurd claim. Anyone had reason to admit that a slogan as exaggerated as "Guardian Alliance" was complete nonsense. Such shameless exaggeration and self-deception, done purely to carry out moral coercion, was not especially common even throughout the Multiverse. Yet compared with these simple, hollow slogans, the actual composition of its members was even stranger.
First of all, the legendary organization leading the alliance was naturally the Mage Guild, owner of the Kalamus Empire. Its primary ally was the Pantheon, the perennial scapegoat that had suffered an entirely undeserved disaster. As for those "volunteer Legends" who had come of their own accord out of humanitarian spirit, hoping to save innocent lives and resist evil invasion... they had not been granted any actual positions within the alliance. These passionate champions of justice were not even considered "members" of the alliance.
Their official status had always been "friends," not "allies."
And that was not even the most outrageous part. The official positions within this "Guardian Alliance" were equally baffling.
For example... with Mestur insisting that he was on a "long journey" through the Astral Realm and could not return in time, the position of alliance leader had temporarily been handed to a Morningstar member of the Mage
