Punk's adventure had already entered its final stages, but as he patiently spent his time on the Half-Mechanical Eye searching for a library, he had no idea that on an inconspicuous Minor Plane in the Multiverse, a dejected young man in a coarse linen robe was sitting in a noisy slum tavern, drinking one cup of cheap liquor after another.

This was the Modifik Plane, a fairly prosperous and peaceful Minor Plane. According to ancient legend, this plane had originally been nothing more than a desolate demi-plane drifting through the Astral Realm. A Legendary Mage known as the Dead Wen Feng Lantern had transformed it, bringing in immigrants from other planes. Only after a long period of development had Modifik become the thriving place it was today.

Of course, a legend was called a legend because it could not be verified. According to the tale, the powerful spellcaster who had created the Modifik Plane never returned after taking an unknown "trip abroad," and this world, once ruled by Legendary professionals, thus gained its true freedom...

Perhaps it could be called freedom. At the very least, on the surface, the Modifik Plane had not welcomed another Legendary professional in nearly two hundred thousand years.
