Night was like water—a phrase meant to describe the deep, terrifying darkness of night, as though darkness alone could drown a person. And now, within this watery night, Punk once again encountered the enemies best at swimming through "water"—rogues.

"Two Journeyman Level opponents? This feels awfully familiar."

Punk's Mage Armor flickered with a faint glow, propping up a tiny patch of weak light beneath the gloomy night sky.

The rogues made no sound. A qualified rogue never needed words in battle; shadows were their best friends.

The enemies, completely blended into the darkness, seemed to have vanished without leaving behind the slightest trace. Yet everyone knew they were venomous snakes that would not rest until one side was dead, lurking in the night and ready to dart from any shadow to give the exhausted Punk and Princess their final blow.

It seemed to be coated with some kind of hallucinogenic poison, and the stricken warrior had already lost all sense of reason.

"Did they set up some kind of backup plan to catch me off guard?"

Punk silently guessed that the reason this warrior had not simply had his throat slit, but had instead been turned into this half-man, half-corpse state, was most likely because the two rogues wanted to make another move.
