The spatial coordinates Kane gave were not on the Faerun plane, but on an unknown Minor Plane.
Of course, there was nothing unreasonable about that alone. Although the Faerun plane possessed richer resources, it also hid countless unknown secrets and treasures.
Correspondingly, however, Faerun was more dangerous than the vast majority of planes. Punk's former status as the neighbor of a Legendary Red Dragon was the best proof of that.
At least among the vast majority of well-developed large Material Planes in the Multiverse, the existence of even one Legendary-tier being was exceedingly rare. Finding two Legendary powerhouses coexisting was practically impossible. Under circumstances where so-called "farming and development" simply could not work, Faerun's advantages in population and resources were difficult for even a mage to exploit... and for a warrior like Kane, who knew absolutely nothing about alchemy spells, they were utterly useless.
So it was not strange for Kane, a knight specializing in the path of chivalry, to settle down on some obscure large Material Plane.
The Multiverse contained planes as numerous as the stars. Near the Faerun plane alone, thousands of large Material Planes slowly revolved. For a warrior with no need for experimental research, a Legendary powerhouse's physique could ignore Astral radiation and required neither food, water, nor air. Even drifting homeless through the Astral Plane all day would merely be a little eccentric.
The only thing Punk found strange was not that Kane had found a Material Plane to settle on, but rather... how could this guy have such good luck?
The plane Kane had found was anything but ordinary. Not only was it not one of the most common barren planes, but it actually contained living creatures, a sufficiently advanced civilization, and even a passably developed system of supernatural power...
As mentioned before, among
