As the saying went, any so-called "official statement" had to be interpreted in light of its historical context, because its internal logic was always utter nonsense...
Whether or not that description was somewhat biased, at least among the pile of "condemnation notices" Punk had received, the flavor of this "historical context" was so strong it practically overflowed.
There were twenty-four notices in total. After reading through them carefully, Punk discovered that aside from the Pantheon, the Mage Guild, and one or two Good-alignment Legendary organizations, whose condemnations were genuine "condemnations," most of the others were filled with strange qualifiers like Thought of Truth's. Ambiguous, evasive phrases such as "somewhat inappropriate," "slightly excessive," and "not entirely suitable" made up the bulk of their language.
As for Thought of Truth's solemn declaration that it was "revoking Whisper of Destruction's position as Senior Mentor," it was even more blatantly trying to distance itself, as though it feared being associated with him in the slightest. If one looked past that rather laughable stance, its message was simply loudly proclaiming to the world—"Punk Saian has nothing whatsoever to do with Thought of Truth. We know nothing about any of his actions, and we want nothing to do with any of this!" That was all.
These notices from the other Legendary professionals were both absurdly laughable and perfectly understandable.
Considering his own alignment and the surging schemes within the Mage Guild, the Legendary Mage now more or less understood the purpose of these "condemnation notices."
Nothing more than declarations of allegiance!
