Spirit City.

It was the annual day of Martial Soul Awakening. All children in Spirit City who met the awakening requirement of six years old would be brought to Spirit Hall for their Martial Soul Awakening.

However, some of the great families in Spirit City had complete Martial Soul Awakening facilities of their own. Most of the descendants of these great families had their awakenings handled by Soul Masters within their clans.

The Feng Family was one such family!

Although the Feng Family did not hold a particularly high status in Spirit City, it could barely be considered one of the great families.

At that moment, more than a dozen boys and girls were chattering away in the Feng Family courtyard as they waited for their Martial Soul Awakening.

As descendants of a great family, these Feng Family children had all seen the world. Though they were curious about the upcoming Martial Soul Awakening, they were nowhere near as wildly excited as children from the countryside.

However, two of the Feng Family children seemed detached from the rest of the group.

One of them was a beautiful little girl. She sat quietly atop a large stone, holding a book about Martial Soul knowledge in her arms. She looked peaceful and lovely.

Perhaps unwilling to ruin such a beautiful scene, the Feng Family children remained somewhat noisy, yet not one of them went over to disturb the fairy-like girl.

In the corner of the Feng Family courtyard, there seemed to be a little boy trying to hide himself in the shadow cast by the high wall.

The little boy was named Feng Xi. Yet despite having the character "Xi," which represented sunlight, in his name, every movement Feng Xi made resembled that of a creature hidden in darkness—lonely and isolated.
