[16 years old, a strange illness appeared in Twilight Town, and none of the afflicted survived.]
[You know, the Honkai is coming soon.]
"Father, you should get some rest," Yoshikage Kira said, frowning at his father's dark circles during breakfast.
"That's right, Uncle, how can you not rest well? Health is the foundation of everything," Pardo chimed in beside Yoshikage Kira.
Yoshikage Kira looked at Pardo, confused. "Why are you here again?"
"Oh, it's just that your cooking is too good, Boss. The breakfast outside can't compare to what you make!"
Yoshikage Kira didn't say anything, just lowered his head to finish his breakfast.
Seeing Yoshikage Kira remain silent, Pardo scratched his head and tentatively asked, "Then I'll help you wash the dishes from now on, Boss?"
Yoshikage Kira looked up slightly, glancing at the girl's hands from the corner of his eye. Under his influence, Pardo no longer had to endure a life of petty theft and hunger. Those hands were naturally more delicate than when he first saw them, slender and elegant, yet plump and fair. Her fingernails emitted a faint green light, soft and lustrous. The thought of those hands becoming wrinkled from washing dishes made Yoshikage Kira feel inexplicably agitated.
"No need. Your helping my father more is the greatest reward I could ask for."
Watching the two children bicker, Yoshikazu Kira felt his spirits lift considerably.
"Alright, Pardo, finish eating and come with me to the clinic. We've had quite a few more patients lately."
After Pardo and Yoshikazu Kira left, Yoshikage Kira began reading, as usual.
"Grown longer again?" Yoshikage Kira frowned, noticing his fingernails had grown longer as he picked up a book.
Sitting in his family's courtyard, Yoshikage Kira began to trim his fingernails.
Since gaining his Stand, Yoshikage Kira's vision had broadened, most notably in his ability to see Honkai energy.
Looking at the increasingly dense Honkai energy, the sense of irritation he'd felt since waking up surged again.
"What's going on?" Yoshikage Kira rubbed his head, forcing himself to suppress the negative emotions.
"They've grown longer again," Yoshikage Kira sighed, watching his freshly trimmed fingernails begin to sprout anew.
Click, click, click...
"Boss, your cooking is truly delicious."
"Alright, don't talk with your mouth full," Yoshikage Kira reminded Pardo, who was wolfing down his food, without saying more.
"Yes, yes, I'm full, Boss. Do you want me to..."
"I'll wash the dishes myself."
"Okay then, I'll be heading back. Thanks for dinner, Boss. Goodbye."
Watching the girl's retreating back, a sense of irritation, stronger than at any other time of day, washed over him.
"Something's wrong..." Yoshikage Kira clutched his head and said to Yoshikazu Kira, "I'm going out for a bit."
"Huh? Kira, you..." Before he could finish, there was a "Bang!" and Yoshikage Kira was already out the door.
Where did Pardo go? Why did she run so fast? Yoshikage Kira had only left a minute later but couldn't find Pardo's figure, and the irritation in his heart grew even stronger.
"It's fine, Pardo's house isn't far from mine, and no one would be foolish enough to attack someone from Kira Clinic. Most gangs owe us favors."
Yoshikage Kira thought this as he ran in the direction of Pardo's house.
Rounding a street corner, he finally saw Pardo. Hearing footsteps, Pardo turned her head, looking at Yoshikage Kira in surprise.
"Huh? What's wrong, Boss?"
Yoshikage Kira rushed over and pulled Pardo into his arms, his hand reaching towards a Shi that suddenly lunged from a dark alley.
Killer Queen! First Bomb.
Watching the Shi disappear before him, Yoshikage Kira breathed a sigh of relief, and the irritation in his heart vanished completely.
He looked down at the girl in his arms. She had buried her head in his chest, motionless.
"Eeeek! Is the Boss finally going to make a move on me?! Yes, yes!" Pardo hid in Yoshikage Kira's embrace, smelling his scent, her heart racing with excitement.
"It seems the matter of the Stand hasn't been exposed," Yoshikage Kira thought, looking at the lovesick girl in his arms.
(Yoshikage Kira's Stand's explosion is silent, so Pardo couldn't hear it.)
"It's alright now, let's go home," Yoshikage Kira said, pushing Pardo away and turning to leave, leaving Pardo bewildered in the wind.
Yoshikage Kira returned home and found his father sitting on the sofa.
"You didn't have to wait up for me."
"Ah, I just wanted to tell you that I've already washed the dishes." With that, his father got up and went back to his room.
Yoshikazu Kira didn't ask any further questions, but seeing his son relax a bit after returning, he was content.
"Mm, I understand," Yoshikage Kira replied to his father and went back to his own room.
"I'm so calm." This was He Cheng-rui's first time killing a person, or rather, a living being, in his life.
He could feel his humanity gradually being diluted by the role of Yoshikage Kira.
"But I saved Pardo, didn't I?"
Thinking of the shy look on the girl's face, He Cheng-rui no longer dwelled on the fading of his humanity and fell into a deep sleep.
"Boss, hehehe." The girl hugged a pillow, burying her head in it, occasionally making strange noises.
