Old Zhao returned from death as a Red-eyed Zombie after a mysterious deity gave him Divine Ruins and chose him as its agent. As Chen Muye and the others realized Old Zhao was still technically a corpse, Old Zhao explained that he had been tasked with fighting the existence behind the mist, though his power had been sealed.

• The middle-aged man transformed after dying, and a terrifying figure appeared in the sky before vanishing; he then returned to normal and declared that he had obtained Divine Ruins.
• Old Zhao bragged about his new power to the Youth and Hong Ying, who questioned why the deity had chosen him.
