Chapter Summaries

After Jiang Zhen and the Jade Emperor ended their battle, Jiang Zhen explained the plan for Sun Wukong to handle Tang Sanzang’s journey and prepared to return to resolve his own problem. The others began leaving as well, with Jiang Zhen warning that his next challenge could threaten an entire world.

• Jiang Zhen and the Jade Emperor exchanged attacks, then acknowledged each other’s strength and agreed that Sun Wukong’s matter was settled.
• Jiang Zhen returned to Water Curtain Cave and told Sun Wukong to establish himself at Two Realms Mountain, help Tang Sanzang, and avoid killing people carelessly.
• Zhang Chulan suggested having the Six Thieves capture Tang Sanzang so Sun Wukong could rescue him and recover the stolen items only when Tang Sanzang asked.
• Jiang Zhen said he would return to handle his own unresolved problem and warned the others not to follow because he might have to contend with the power of an entire world.
• Little Stone, Yang Jian, and Canonized Nezha announced they were returning to their own duties.

After the battle, the group members discussed where they would go next and what worlds they could cultivate in. Madara and Esdeath chose to remain in this world, while others departed to explore or strengthen their own worlds, and Li Lianhua decided to stay and seek out sword cultivators.

• Madara and Esdeath decided to settle in this world, and Sun Wukong invited them to visit him at Two Realms Mountain for peaches and Nectar of the Jade Liquid.
• Zhang Chulan said he would return with his grandmaster and others to help advance Yang Jian's world, and Sun Wukong promised to send them Peaches of Immortality.

After returning to Jia Jia Building, Jiang Zhen sensed that Fate had appeared in Ma Xiaoling’s room and began planning to draw it out by changing her destiny. He reunited with Ma Xiaoling and Wang Zhenzhen, invited them to eat, and the three sat down together.

• Jiang Zhen returned to Jia Jia Building after nearly half a year away and sensed Fate’s aura near Ma Xiaoling’s room.
• Jiang Zhen reasoned that Fate had noticed the change in Ma Xiaoling’s bloodline and planned to alter her destiny to lure it out.
• Jiang Zhen bought food and met Ma Xiaoling and Wang Zhenzhen outside Jia Jia Building.
• Ma Xiaoling happily greeted Jiang Zhen, and he invited her and Wang Zhenzhen to eat at his place.

Over dinner, Ma Xiaoling told Jiang Zhen how she discovered that Kuang Tianyou and the Little Ghost were Zombies, while Wang Zhenzhen defended Kuang Tianyou. Jiang Zhen wondered whether the changes in events had caused Fate to appear.

• Ma Xiaoling raised her concern about whether she should kill the two Zombies, and Wang Zhenzhen insisted that Kuang Tianyou was good and had never harmed anyone.
• Jiang Zhen identified Kuang Tianyou as likely belonging to the Jiang Chen lineage and asked Ma Xiaoling to explain what had happened.

Jiang Zhen explained how the Perfect Human Race created the Pangu Clan to fight Fate, and how the Pangu War God eventually became known as Jiang Chen. The chapter ended with Ma Xiaoling stunned by the revelation.

• Jiang Zhen said the Perfect Humans used a drop of Pangu's Essence Blood to create the Pangu Clan, whose strongest member was the War God.
• Fate discovered the Pangu Clan, and a devastating battle nearly wiped out the Perfect Humans and badly wounded both Fate and the Pangu Clan.

He ended by hinting that Kuang Zhongtang’s apparent suicide was not the full story.

• Jiang Zhen explained that Nuwa left the Human Race a chance to change, while Jiang Chen wandered alone and the Pangu Clan’s plan to lure out Fate failed.

Jiang Zhen explained how Fate manipulated the First Emperor, the Ma family, and events surrounding Jiang Chen, then revealed his own origins as a Pangu embryo who became a Mythological Daluo. He told Ma Xiaoling he had returned to settle his karma with Fate but could not destroy it without devastating the world.

• Jiang Zhen told Ma Xiaoling that he had visited the Journey to the West World and planned to deal with Fate before taking her to meet Sun Wukong.
• Jiang Zhen said Ma Xiaoling was Ma Ling'er's reincarnation and that Fate had scripted her and Kuang Tianyou to become entangled, but his Pure Yang Flame had disrupted the plan.
• Jiang Zhen explained that Fate had used Ma Xiaoling as bait to draw out other Pangu Clansmen and offered her a choice about how he would expose him.
• Ma Xiaoling rejected the future Jiang Zhen described and said she would not choose a Zombie, while Jiang Zhen clarified that Second Generation Zombies were not true Pangu Clansmen.
• Jiang Zhen explained that Pangu Clansmen genes created defects in human Zombies, leaving them dependent on blood to replenish the genes their bodies could not otherwise restore.

Jiang Zhen told Ma Xiaoling that they would provoke Fate by drawing out the Pangu Clansmen, then took her to meet the man known as Ancestor Jiang Zhen. The man was revealed to be Zombie King Jiang Chen, who agreed to help draw Fate out while Jiang Zhen handled the fight.

• Jiang Zhen asked Ma Xiaoling to resist Fate’s plans and agreed to take her to meet someone who could help lure Fate out.
• Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling went to a bar, where he met a middle-aged man with fragmented memories of his past.
• Jiang Zhen introduced Ma Xiaoling as the Ma family successor and an inheritor of Fate’s Bloodline, and identified the man as Zombie King Jiang Chen, the Pangu Clan’s former War God.
• Jiang Zhen asked Jiang Chen whether he would help destroy Fate, but Jiang Chen said he no longer wanted to fight.
• Jiang Zhen promised to handle Fate himself and asked Jiang Chen only to help lure him out.

Jiang Zhen explained how Fate had manipulated events around Jiang Chen and proposed disrupting Fate’s plans to draw him out. Jiang Chen agreed to help after Jiang Zhen freed Nuwa’s body, then left with her.

• Jiang Zhen traced Fate’s scheme back to Xu Fu, who had been guided to find and be bitten by Jiang Chen.

• Ma Xiaoling asked about the Myriad Worlds, and Jiang Zhen described a technological Earth Star devastated by alien and interstellar wars.
• Jiang Zhen recounted how he had awakened during an invasion, driven back the Lieyang Star People, and later survived crises across many other worlds.

Jiang Zhen explained how Ma Xiaoling could strengthen her Bloodline, then revealed the identity of a seemingly ordinary man as Human King Fuxi. He told Fuxi that he had returned to destroy Fate and asked him to emerge and fight Queen Mother of the Jade Pool to draw Fate out.

• Jiang Zhen told Ma Xiaoling that combining her Bloodline with the Pure Yang Flame could break Fate’s restrictions and create a stronger Fire Attribute Bloodline.

Jiang Zhen showed Fu Xi and Ma Xiaoling that he could destroy a world with a single palm and proposed a plan to force Fate to reveal itself without destroying their own world. He left Fu Xi with a plan to gather the Pangu Clan, the Perfect Human Race, Nuwa, and others for a confrontation.

• Jiang Zhen told Fu Xi that he had seen many possible futures and only one in which Fu Xi's plan could defeat Fate, at an immense cost.
• Jiang Zhen took Fu Xi and Ma Xiaoling outside the world barrier and destroyed a Minor Thousand World to demonstrate his strength.
• Jiang Zhen said he could capture Fate as soon as it revealed itself and outlined a plan involving Ma Xiaoling, Jiang Chen, Nuwa, Fu Xi, the Queen Mother of the Jade Pool, and the Pangu Clan.

Jiang Zhen took Ma Xiaoling to the Journey to the West World so she could strengthen her cultivation and break her Bloodline restrictions while a clone covered for her in their own world. He planned to seek Sun Wukong’s help and return before the Journey to the West began, when the return of rescued Intercept Sect Disciples could cause upheaval.

• Fu Xi agreed to let Jiang Zhen find Jade Pool in Pangu Sacred Land, and Jiang Zhen said he would contact him once he found it.
• Jiang Zhen created a clone of Ma Xiaoling to take her place, then transported them to the Journey to the West World.

Jiang Zhen reunited with Sun Wukong at Two Realms Mountain and brought Ma Xiaoling there to learn cultivation before facing Fate. Sun Wukong gave her a cultivation art and told Jiang Zhen how Esdeath and the other companions had grown stronger while he was away.

Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling left Two Realms Mountain for the Central Plains, where Jiang Zhen explained how powerful demons from this era could be and offered to get Ma Xiaoling a stronger staff from the East Sea Dragon Clan. Their journey ended at Double Fork Ridge, where Jiang Zhen easily subdued three demons and identified them as Tang Sanzang’s first trial.

• Jiang Zhen promised Sun Wukong he would investigate the Central Plains and help guide the monk if the opportunity arose.
• Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling set out toward the Central Plains, and Jiang Zhen warned her that demons from this era were far stronger than the demons she knew.

Jiang Zhen brought Ma Xiaoling to the East Sea to find her a suitable weapon and asked Ao Guang for help. Ao Guang agreed to provide a staff and received a True Dragon Treasure Technique from Jiang Zhen.

• Jiang Zhen explained to Ma Xiaoling that the powerful beings from her world were not especially formidable, then took her through a rift in space to the East Sea.
• Jiang Zhen called for Ao Guang, who emerged from the sea and respectfully greeted him.
• Jiang Zhen told Ao Guang that Ma Xiaoling needed a weapon, and Ao Guang recognized the Dragon Clan blood, Dragon Pearl, and Dragon Soul within her.
• Ao Guang judged Ma Xiaoling’s Demon Subduing Staff inferior even to the weapons of his soldiers, then offered a low-grade Houtian Spiritual Treasure staff made from Purple Gold Thunder Bamboo.
• Jiang Zhen gave Ao Guang the True Dragon Treasure Technique, and Ao Guang invited Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling to the Dragon Palace to retrieve the staff.

Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling received the Purple Gold Thunder Rod from the Old Dragon King, who explained its history and the sacrifice of the Thunder Dragon ancestor bound to it. The rod recognized Ma Xiaoling, and Jiang Zhen sealed its power so she could use it safely.

• The Old Dragon King presented the Purple Gold Thunder Rod and recounted how a Thunder Dragon ancestor forged it from Purple Gold Thunder Bamboo, then merged with it after it was shattered.
• At Jiang Zhen’s suggestion, Ma Xiaoling dropped her blood onto the rod, awakening a Thunder Dragon phantom that swallowed her Dragon Pearl and weak golden dragon before entering the weapon.
• The Old Dragon King declared that Ma Xiaoling was fated to inherit the rod, and it flew into her hand.
• The rod unleashed violent thunder until Jiang Zhen suppressed it and placed nine Seals on it, explaining that Ma Xiaoling could remove them as her strength grew.

Ma Xiaoling renamed the restored Purple Gold Thunder Rod the Dragon Scale Thunder Rod and received a Dragon Scale Treasure Robe from the Old Dragon King. After Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling left the East Sea, the Old Dragon King explained to the Dragon Matriarch why he had welcomed Jiang Zhen and given him treasures.

• Ma Xiaoling named the restored weapon the Dragon Scale Thunder Rod, and Jiang Zhen prepared to leave for the Central Plains with her.
• The Old Dragon King gave Ma Xiaoling a Dragon Scale Treasure Robe, which the Dragon Girl helped her bind and transform into modern clothing.
• Jiang Zhen and Ma Xiaoling departed the East Sea, and the Dragon Matriarch asked the Old Dragon King why he had given Ma Xiaoling valuable gifts.
