After sealing Edo Madara, Nara Kaikei had Orochimaru end the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu and offered him the choice to return to Konoha as a prisoner. Orochimaru accepted, and Kaikei gave him three days to return and face the Third Lord or risk being hunted by the village.
