Before entering Leon's service, Sarah spent roughly ten years surviving as an “untouchable” on the margins of human society. She learned to hunt, live in hiding, and evade the “righteous executions” of fanatical believers, but had never received systematic combat training. 87

Sarah initially worked as the Great Cemetery's NPC Shop Clerk. Wanting to become more useful to Leon, she asked to be turned into a Ghoul; Leon refused, replaced her at the shop, and instead arranged training under Chris, a former Silver Scimitar member.
