Thirty-six months in dreams, one hundred and eight days in the waking world.
Three years had passed.
Within a shallow bay of the Blackwater River.
A green fish was moving furtively.
It was more than six feet long, its body covered in jade-like green scales that seemed to shimmer with flowing radiance. Beneath those scales, its body was drawn taut, like a great bow with its string pulled to the fullest, exuding a sense of power from within and without.
An incomparably formidable sense of power!
It was as though what lay beneath those scales was not thick fat, but knotted muscles like those of a dragon.
In truth, it had both!
In this shallow bay, the green fish's size was already enormous. No predator dared provoke it; every other fish could only become its prey.
Yet it still moved sneakily, poking its head about. Only after confirming that it was safe did it relax and begin swimming freely through the shallow bay.
"Crunch, crunch, crunch!"
With a flick of its tail, it shot forth like an arrow loosed from the bow, rushing to the riverbed and biting onto a large river clam.
That was right, biting it!
Ordinary green fish only had pharyngeal teeth. They could not tear apart prey and could only swallow it whole before crushing it.
But this green fish possessed a mouthful of sharp teeth, sharp teeth like a shark's.
It bit down on the clam, crushing its shell in a few crunches. Then it thrust its head into the broken shell and began enjoying the plump, sweet clam meat.
It truly was plump and sweet. After becoming a fish, its sense of taste seemed to have changed as well. This clam meat, which ordinary people found intensely fishy and foul, tasted incomparably fresh and
