Chapter 107: Who Is the Unlucky Bastard
"Orange Hawk, what's wrong with you? Alan came after me, and you were supposed to kill him from behind! Why didn't you shoot? You didn't shoot in the stairwell, and you didn't shoot downstairs either. What the hell were you doing?!"
Finding an opportunity, Nick complained through his earpiece. He felt that something was wrong with Orange Hawk's thinking.
After hearing that Nick had inexplicably blocked bullets for him twice, Orange Hawk said, "Lin Li was behind me! Why did you leave the ward? The enemy could keep circling behind me. You told me to go over, but how was I supposed to get there?"
Something felt very wrong to him. Messiah's people seemed to always know where he was.
"Khan, are you sure they can't see the surveillance feeds?" Orange Hawk demanded.
"Khan" said, "It doesn't seem to be a surveillance issue..."
"If it's not the surveillance, then what is it?" Orange Hawk asked.
"The communicators! Your communicators have been tapped. Give me a few minutes. Don't talk during that time!" As "Khan" spoke, he cut off their communications.
"Wait! Orange Hawk, Michelle is already here! Orange Hawk? Hello? Fuck!" Nick slammed his fist into the floor.
The movement tugged at his wound, making him grimace in pain.
"What's wrong?" the Chief of Police came over and asked.
"Nothing..." Nick touched the phone in his pocket. He wanted to call Michelle, but whispering into an earpiece was still somewhat discreet. Pulling out his phone to make a call would be far too conspicuous, especially with so many police officers around.
"You can't use a gun anymore." The Chief of Police treated Nick's wound again and took away his gun.
"Don't..." Nick said anxiously.
"You're hurt this badly and you still want to
