On March 15, 2010, the Winged God saw daylight again.
A crane hauled it up through the hundred-meter-deep shaft, revealing how extraordinarily light it was.
It weighed just 180 kilograms in total, an incredible weight for such a large, resilient structure. It weighed less than Carmen! Carmen stood 2.2 meters tall and weighed 280 kilograms, making the Winged God a full hundred kilograms lighter than him.
Carmen cradled the palace in both hands and lifted it high, its surface radiating brilliant golden light.
The small, flattened spherical Cherub palace, three meters high and ten meters across, was as light as plastic in Carmen's hands! "By the six gods, today the Winged God returns to the light," Carmen declared excitedly.
"Oh!" The Illuminati personnel in the desert cheered and leaped for joy, tossing whatever they held into the sky.
This was indeed a joyous occasion. They already knew that everyone involved would receive a reward.
Carmen was only one step away from becoming a Sword-Keeper, leaving practically nothing more to reward him with, but everyone else was still thrilled.
Some people, however, were unhappy, such as Luo Yan and Maxi.
The reason was that Carmen's confidant Saiyid had brazenly flown in a transport helicopter.
That would normally have been perfectly ordinary, except that the helicopter's cabin, along with the nets, canvas, and other supplies prepared on-site to cover the Winged God, all bore enormous Double Pupils symbols! The Illuminati's symbol was the All-Seeing Eye, and this new eye within an eye looked so similar at first glance that many people failed to notice.
Still, plenty of observant people spotted it and were momentarily confused.
"What's going on? Why doesn't that match our insignia?"
"What kind of eye is that? Double pupils?"
