The Book of Karma surged with dense Chaos energy. Countless pages flipped open, spilling forth innumerable obscure and strange symbols.
It was deducing whether a thread of karma lay hidden between Su Yi and Xi Ning.
Yet, out of caution, it did not dare deduce Su Yi, fearing backlash. Instead, it set Xi Ning as the target of its deduction.
But only moments later—Boom!
With a deafening explosion, the Book of Karma seemed struck by lightning. One of its pages abruptly burst into flames.
"Fuck! A taboo—a peerless, absolute taboo!"
The Book of Karma shook violently, flopping and thrashing like a live fish tossed onto shore, as though it were in such agony that it wished it were dead.
Both Su Yi and Xi Ning were stunned.
What was going on?
The Book of Karma had actually suffered backlash directly!
It had even paid a grievous price for it!
