Lu Qingfeng paid no mind to what the two were thinking.
Of the two,
one was an Orthodox God of the Heavenly Court.
The other was a disciple of the Way of Heaven Sect.
By one reckoning, he had ties to both. Like the first, he was a great god of the Heavenly Court. As for the Way of Heaven Sect, Lu Qingfeng could, at his roots, be considered to have come from Black Wind Mountain. His elder brother, Great Sage Huangfeng, should also have joined the Way of Heaven Sect by now, though he did not know how his seniority compared with Venerable Six-Eyes's.
But
all that was merely on the surface.
Look closer—
He was Tianpeng, someone outsiders would consider a trusted subordinate personally elevated by the Jade Emperor. Yin Jiao, however, was a True Disciple of the Chan Sect. Though both were great gods of the Heavenly Court, they were not of the same camp.
Venerable Six-Eyes went without saying.
Whatever ties Lu Qingfeng had to Black Wind Mountain, whether or not his elder brother had joined it, Lu Qingfeng himself was the one who had been turned away.
He had no real connection to Six-Eyes.
Venerable Six-Eyes did not yet know Lu Qingfeng's origins, so he had not reacted.
But Yin Jiao's gaze was unfriendly as he looked at Lu Qingfeng. "True Lord Tianpeng, you've only just taken command of the Water Palace. Instead of putting your naval forces in order on the Celestial River, you come here and skulk about like a petty villain. What is the meaning of this?!"
By "skulk about," he naturally meant Lu Qingfeng's attempt to slip into the Barbarian God Realm.
Venerable Six-Eyes's pupils flickered, but he said nothing.
He, too, looked to Lu Qingfeng for an explanation.
