All living beings of the primordial world shall enter reincarnation after death. By the Great Dao, I establish: the Heavenly Dao, Asura Dao, Human Dao, Beast Dao, Hungry Ghost Dao, and Hell Dao.
Those with vast merit in life shall enter the Heavenly Dao and live freely; those burdened by slaughter shall enter the Asura Dao; those with neither merit nor fault shall enter the Human Dao;
Those whose faults outweigh their merit shall enter the Beast Dao; those guilty of heinous crimes shall enter the Hungry Ghost Dao and Hell Dao. From this day onward, all souls shall return to their places—
