With two hours left before the new rule was released, Guan Tong and Shangyuan Zi were browsing through classified documents.
These documents had been sent by the Countermeasures Office—backup materials seized from the Yuze Family.
Part of the contents concerned the Yamata Bloodline. Clearly, after Yuze Chun acquired the bloodline ability, he had conducted extensive research in order to better master it.
As Yingqi's Ruling Family, the Yuze Family had access to more hidden historical secrets. Unlike ordinary people, they had not merely heard a few legends.
After reviewing the documents, the two discovered that the key lay in Shangyuan Zi's discovery.
When the Yuze Family found her and learned that her bloodline ability was called "Yuanlu," they immediately used that clue to match it against the materials they had collected.
It was like having several historical documents at hand but having no idea which one recorded real history—or whether they were all fake.
Shangyuan Zi's appearance, however, made it possible to reconstruct the history of Yuanlu and the great serpent—her bloodline was named "Yuanlu," yet her bloodline ability was related to the great serpent. Only one set of records matched that situation.
The Yuze Family therefore identified those records as genuine.
"...Legend has it that Yuanlu, the hero who defeated the great serpent, was not actually human," Guan Tong read. "It was also a great serpent, but one that was close to humans."
"To protect humanity, it fought Yamata and ultimately defeated it, driving it back into the sea. Grateful for its kindness, humans named it after the local fishing village, 'Yuanlu,' hoping it would forever serve as the village's guardian deity..."
Upon reading this, Guan Tong and Shangyuan Zi exchanged a glance.
"If Yuanlu was also a great serpent, then your situation has an
