January 15th, 3:00 p.m.

Three hours had passed since Fire Thief dropped the alien entity onto Tianshui Star.

Three hours was short—longer movie would be over before anyone noticed.

Three hours was also long enough for the Contact Delegation to complete its first contact with the alien entity.

At the cost of twelve lives in total, the delegation on site had reached several conclusions:

1. The alien entity could communicate, but it had to be given food.

2. Humans could serve as food.

3. Though this had not yet been verified, different questions might require different amounts of food.

4. Once a question was asked, the alien entity would automatically begin searching for food rather than wait for the questioner to provide it.

5. The alien entity did not seem to regard the "person asking the question" as food.

Some thought it was worth trading more than ten lives for these conclusions. Others found it absurd.

Louis, who represented those who thought it worthwhile, was currently under strict guard behind a human wall formed by several Xisiya mobile unit soldiers. He was not allowed to approach the alien entity.

"Why are you stopping me?" Louis tried to push his way out, only to be firmly restrained by several soldiers.

Sigaoxin, standing nearby, said, "Our Governor Yelena has issued an order. Until the latest UHC meeting concludes, no one is allowed to ask the alien entity any more questions. If we didn't stop you, you wouldn't be able to restrain yourself, would you?"

Louis adjusted his glasses and glared at Sigaoxin angrily. "I'm with the Suoloma Space Administration. Your Xisiya soldiers have no right to restrict my personal freedom!"

Sigaoxin replied coldly, "This is Xisiya Nation territory. Since you're standing on this land, we have the right to control you."

"You!"
