On the outskirts of Yunhua City, several armed units rushed over as soon as they received their orders and began constructing a defensive line.
The soldiers set up several large floodlights, making the surrounding area as bright as day.
With the incident unfolding too suddenly, there was no time to set up proper barricades. They could only tie barbed wire to iron barrels, then line the barrels up to block the road.
Behind them were armored vehicles from the armed units, fitted with machine guns and cannons. Several soldiers carrying briefcases were also working with equipment. They were all drone operators.
Several of the operators controlled military-grade drones, using thermal imaging to scan for the targets.
However, the operators soon discovered that a large number of Living Dead could not be detected. Their bodies were completely cold, rendering thermal imaging useless!

The howls of the Living Dead rang out as a legion of thousands surged forward. They were all residents from the disaster-stricken villages and counties nearby, now risen from the dead and launching an assault on the great city of Yunhua!

A barrage of bullets and grenades rained down on the Living Dead charging the barricade checkpoint, cutting them down row by row.
Though these Living Dead feared no death, their defenses were nothing exceptional. Breaking their arms or legs restricted their movements, while destroying their brains killed them completely.
Thus, they were utterly unable to break through the formidable network of firepower formed by the armed units. Before long, the first wave of over a thousand Living Dead
