Chen Qing emerged from True Martial Hall, still turning over Pulse Master Han Guxi's words in his mind.
Just as he slowly made his way down the bluestone path, a familiar figure came into view ahead.
The man wore an elder's robes. It was Deng Ziheng, Elder Deng.
"Chen Qing greets Elder Deng." Chen Qing stepped forward and respectfully cupped his fists in salute.
A smile appeared on Deng Ziheng's face. He looked Chen Qing over, nodded, and said, "No need for such formality. You just came from the Pulse Master?"
"Yes," Chen Qing replied.
"Mm. Come with me." As Deng Ziheng spoke, he led Chen Qing toward a relatively secluded side hall nearby.
The side hall was simply furnished. Deng Ziheng gestured for Chen Qing to sit, then took two ancient-looking jade bottles from his sleeve and placed them on the wooden table between them.
"This bottle contains Dust Settling Pills."
Pointing at one of the white jade bottles, Deng Ziheng said, "These pills calm the mind and settle the spirit, dispelling stray thoughts. They are greatly beneficial to martial cultivation, especially when comprehending profound martial arts. They can effectively reduce the risk of cultivation deviation, and they are quite difficult to refine."
He then pointed to the other jade bottle, which gleamed with a crimson light. "This bottle contains Dragon Tiger Foundation Nourishing Pills. Though they are made using the essence of exotic beasts with dragon and tiger bloodlines, they are tempered with mild spiritual medicines. Their medicinal power is upright and gentle, specializing in nourishing the meridians and consolidating one's Dao foundation. They are most suitable for strengthening your foundation at your current stage."
A trace of surprise flashed through Chen Qing's eyes.
One of these two pills could calm the mind and guard against cultivation deviation.
