The forty-sixth layer, Shadow Sky, was especially important to Graz'zt. It was one of the five largest among the hundreds of known Abyssal Planes and was home to hundreds of millions of demons. Including the other two planes, the territory and number of demons ruled by the Master of Gloom ranked first among all Abyssal Lords, second only to the Four Abyss Gods.
The more demons an Abyssal Lord ruled and the larger the area it controlled, the stronger it became.
Those Abyssal Lords with power comparable to that of deities were honored as "Demon Lords," and Graz'zt was one of them.
There were fewer than ten Demon Lords in the entire Abyss.
