The Calamity of Eversong City

Because everyone could fly, Rayne chose a point in the sky as the destination of the Void Gate, reducing the danger of being ambushed by the enemy.

He burst out of the Portal and appeared above a dense forest.

Then he spotted a city several miles to the left ahead of them. Its outskirts were surrounded by tall white walls, while the watchtowers were primarily blood red. These streamlined spires stood a hundred meters apart, radiating powerful magical fluctuations that protected the city behind the walls.

The buildings inside the city were exquisite and magnificent, stretching as far as the eye could see. Countless corridors, platforms, and gardens were arranged throughout, while golden glazed rooftops of varying heights surrounded a Mage Tower several hundred meters tall at the very center of the city. It was as if they had entered a fairyland on earth.

This was the homeland of the Blood Elves—Eversong City.

But at that moment, this breathtakingly beautiful city was suffering an unprecedented calamity.

Several years ago, when Rayne had first seen it, part of this Floating City was still unfinished. Now, however, it had been completed in its entirety.

An obelisk-like tower stood at each of the pyramid's four corners, while an even larger obelisk rose from its peak. The five towers were connected to one another, spreading open a powerful barrier composed of countless souls that blocked all attacks from the outside.

The entrance to the pyramid was located at its bottom, a pitch-black opening from which an endless stream of undead troops surged forth.
