Igon's expression was a sight to behold. He stammered as he spoke, taking a deep breath before barely recovering. Then he stared wide-eyed and asked, "How did you know that corpses are needed to grow Dark Soul Mushrooms?" This was what concerned him most, as it involved his greatest secret.
"You told me yourself." Rayne snorted.
A few years ago, not long after his son Rex had been born, Igon had visited Red Dragon Fortress. He had accidentally let the secret slip.
"Uh..."
Igon gave an awkward smile. "I thought you hadn't heard me clearly back then and had forgotten about it long ago."
"I never forget anything." Seeing through the Black Dragon's thoughts, Rayne put on a stern expression and said, "Don't play dumb. Tell me, can demon corpses be left out?"
Even the slightest hint of the Soul Saint Wizard's aura made Igon's heart pound. He quickly answered, "I think so."
"You think?"
Rayne's expression turned displeased as he said in a low voice, "I want a definite answer."
Igon wore a Legendary Tier Arch-Druid Amulet that could interfere with the Soul Eye's ability to sense his thoughts. However, after Rayne had advanced to become a Soul Saint Wizard, the Soul Eye had also upgraded and could now see through Serana's Soul-Woven Charm.
The Black Dragon already had a definite answer. He simply did not want to say it outright and was trying to bargain.
This matter was of great importance, and Rayne had no intention of playing along with him.
"Don't assume that you're the only one in the world who knows alchemy. There are plenty of people capable of refining Dark Soul Potions, and researching Dark Soul Mushrooms isn't that difficult either." Rayne issued a stern warning. "If you keep hiding things from me,
