"His Majesty the Kings have agreed to your demands."
Kastaggin's words came as a surprise to Rayne. The Dwarf Kings had agreed so quickly, without even haggling. Seeing the anxious look on Kastaggin's face, Rayne immediately guessed the reason. He stood and asked, "What happened?"
"The Netherfiend army has begun its attack!"
Kastaggin spoke rapidly. "I was still waiting for the kings' decision when I received a magical transmission. The Netherfiend army that was repelled this morning has begun to move. They've gathered at least two hundred thousand troops, more than in any previous attack. They must be planning to break through the walls in one go."
What a timely assist!
Rayne thought to himself. His two demands had been extremely harsh. Although the Dwarf Kings had been driven into a corner and ultimately had no choice but to agree, the Netherfiends' imminent attack had left them no time to bargain. They could only accept immediately.
As he thought this, the Rayne's Heavenly Soldiers stationed near the Draweil Peninsula also sent back word. The Netherfiend army was indeed gathering.
Seeing that Rayne still looked completely calm, Kastaggin urged him, "Rayne, quickly send your Legion to the battlefield."
"Don't rush. The Netherfiend army won't attack that quickly."
Rayne opened a parchment on the desk. "Sign this treaty first."
"At a time like this..." Kastaggin was utterly helpless. He could only force himself to calm down and read the parchment. Its contents were brief, written in both Aurelian Language and Dwarven Tongue. The beginning identified the two parties signing the treaty: one was Rayne, and the other was the five Dwarf kingdoms. It then listed the two conditions in precise, unambiguous, and solemn language.
The ink on the parchment had not yet dried, clearly showing that Rayne had just finished writing it.
