Rayne immediately devoured several more ingots of fine iron, and the Pixel World expanded a little further.
"It really works!"
He was overjoyed.
If he could expand the space without using Soul Diamonds, he could save an immeasurable amount of power. The size of the Pixel World no longer seemed to be a problem. Although he still did not know how useful the Pixel World would become after expanding, a world that belonged entirely to him was naturally better the bigger it was!
Next, Rayne conducted a series of tests.
Metal, wood, food, gems, and soil—anything he could swallow into his stomach could be digested and converted into energy to expand the space.
However, no matter what he ate, the converted energy was about the same.
Even after devouring some precious Alchemical Materials that contained enormous amounts of Magic energy, the result was hardly any better than eating dirt. There was almost no difference between the two.
The space expanded very little as well.
Rayne even went to the wilderness of the Gamalan Plains and secretly ate several tons of soil, but that only expanded the Pixel World by a dozen or so cubic centimeters.
Such a low conversion rate was practically like having a basin of ice water poured over his head.
"Could I be eating the wrong things?"
Rayne returned to the Star Destroyer. Unwilling to give up, he soon came up with a bold idea. Instead of devouring matter and converting it into energy, why not devour energy directly? The Star Destroyer already had a ready-made energy source, and it was inexhaustible!
He impatiently teleported into the Star Destroyer's core chamber and drew energy from Iola's Core.
A moment later, Rayne emerged in disappointment.
"The Devouring Element can only devour matter, not energy..." He shook his head
