Ch. 208The Terrifying Arcanist

Rayne and Osiria confronted Ruin Anseram, a powerful Legendary High Tier Arcanist, in the cavern. Osiria revealed that she was a Rainbow Dragon and battled Ruin, but as he gained the advantage, Rayne interrupted his spellcasting and struck his shield.

  • Rayne recognized Ruin Anseram as a Legendary High Tier Arcanist, and Ruin declared that Osiria should not have tracked him down.
  • Ruin attacked Rayne with an Arcane Blast, then used Binding and Banishment to restrain Osiria and trap Isou in the Shadow Plane.
  • Ruin began preparing a Void Bomb, so Osiria transformed into her True Dragon Body and unleashed her Rainbow Dragon breath, destroying the Rune Array and closing the portal.
  • Ruin survived behind his Prismatic Shield and used Mirror Images to surround and wound Osiria with a barrage of spells.
  • As Ruin prepared another spell, Rayne interrupted his casting with a thunderous strike and smashed his warhammer into Ruin's shield.

Ch. 209Riding a Dragon

Rayne and Osiria escaped Ruin after Rayne counterspelled his Void Bomb, but Rayne was left gravely wounded. As they flew over the sea, Rayne prepared to use the Slime Monster Demon Soul in the Soul Stone to heal himself.

  • Rayne pursued Ruin through the cavern and repeatedly battered him with his warhammer, but Ruin eventually restrained him and began casting a Void Bomb.
  • Rayne counterspelled Ruin’s Void Bomb, causing it to explode in Ruin’s hand and badly injure him, but the resulting spatial rifts tore into Rayne.
  • Osiria rescued Rayne and teleported them away, while Isou escaped through the Shadow Plane; Ruin chose to stay behind and destroy the evidence rather than pursue them immediately.
  • Osiria carried Rayne across the sea, and Rayne warned that Ruin could still catch up because of his mastery of teleportation.
  • Rayne used his electricity to stabilize his injuries, then pressed the Soul Stone containing the Slime Monster Demon Soul against his brow and prepared to rely on Living Metal.

Ch. 210Metal Undying Body

Rayne fused with the Slime Monster's Demon Soul and gained the Living Metal element, which worked with his Body of Steel to heal his severe injury and create what he called the Metal Undying Body. Osiria then landed on an ice sheet and activated a communication and long-distance positioning array while Ruin Anseram remained missing.

  • Rayne endured ten surges of Soul Power to fuse with the Slime Monster's Demon Soul, gaining the Living Metal element at a fusion rate slightly above fifty percent.
  • Rayne tested Living Metal by reshaping a Gold Shield into different forms and learned that controlling metal consumed physical strength while the new shapes persisted afterward.
  • Rayne used Living Metal with his Body of Steel to repair his chest and regrow his missing grape, then named the combination the Metal Undying Body.
  • Rayne asked Osiria whether Ruin Anseram would catch up, but neither of them could find him over the open sea.
  • Osiria froze the sea into an ice sheet, changed back into human form, drew a Rune Array, and activated a Communication Spell with long-distance positioning.

Ch. 211Master Anxi

Rayne and Osiria met Master Anxi after Ruin escaped, and the Soul Saint Wizard investigated the deserted island where Ruin had hidden a teleportation array. The chapter left Master Anxi surprised when Rayne said he remembered the array.

  • Osiria asked how Rayne had seen through her invisibility, and Rayne claimed he possessed the Legendary Element Will of Truth.
  • Rayne and Osiria agreed to keep her identity secret and thanked each other for saving their lives.
  • Master Anxi arrived through a flaming passage, heard Osiria's account of Ruin, and teleported with her and Rayne to the deserted island.
  • Master Anxi found the cavern cleared and used the Akashic Holy Staff to replay an Illusion of Ruin removing the array and evacuating the workers and cargo.
  • Master Anxi asked what they remembered of the array, and Rayne said he remembered it.

Ch. 212Superhuman Memory

Rayne reproduced the Teleportation Array from memory, helping Ansiwodoss identify its destination as Shield Island on the New Continent’s eastern coast. Ansiwodoss decided to send Kolsted there to investigate, then returned Rayne and Isou to the Demon Capital and promised to take Rayne on as his student.

  • Rayne copied the Teleportation Array from photographs on his phone, and Ansiwodoss confirmed that Ruin had created it.
  • Ansiwodoss identified the array’s destination as Shield Island, leading Rayne and Osiria to question whether the Demon Capital nobles’ secret plan was connected to the prophecy about Wizerland Floating City.
  • Ansiwodoss decided to continue investigating and send Kolsted to Shield Island, while refusing to put Rayne or Osiria at risk there.
  • Ansiwodoss pulled Isou out of hiding after catching him eavesdropping, and Isou explained that he had doubled back to scout the situation.
  • Ansiwodoss sent Rayne and Isou back to the Demon Capital and told Rayne he would make him his student the next day.

Ch. 213Terminator

Rayne returned to his castle after Master Anxi agreed to take him as a student, then planned to keep investigating the Aiden Family while testing the capabilities of Living Metal. His experiments revealed that he could reshape his body and metal objects, but he set aside plans to distribute machine guns because of the risks of exposing the technology.

  • Rayne and Isou flew back to the castle, where Rayne confirmed that the Aiden Family needed continued surveillance while they waited for news from Shield Island.
  • Isou left through the Shadow Plane to return to the Pink Colt, and Rayne entered the magic practice room to test Living Metal.
  • Rayne discovered that Living Metal let him reshape his body into convincing new appearances, though his transformations had limits and could not change his overall volume or weight.
  • Rayne considered inventing a steam motorcycle, then used Living Metal to reshape iron into armor and a Rambo's Gun.
  • Rayne decided not to equip his companions with machine guns yet because ammunition, secrecy, and the consequences of spreading the technology posed serious problems.

Ch. 214Reentering the Academy

Rayne traveled to Wezelan Academy to attend the ceremony making him Ansiwodoss’s student. While observing the gathered Wizards, he discovered that many were hostile toward him and recorded their faces, suspecting a wider conspiracy involving Demon Capital’s nobles.

  • Fabian told Rayne that Ansiwodoss would formally accept him as a student, and congratulations poured in from Demon Capital’s nobles.
  • Perry arrived from Wezelan Academy and explained that Rayne had to attend the apprenticeship ceremony at noon.
  • Rayne entered Wezelan Academy through a portal and drew the apprentices’ attention as Perry escorted him to the grand auditorium.
  • Rayne greeted Osiria and surveyed the assembled Wizards with his Soul Eye, finding no followers of the Lord of Death.
  • Rayne noticed that more than fifty Wizards were hostile toward him, suspected ties to Demon Capital’s nobles or the Shield Island affair, and photographed them for his records.

Ch. 215The Council of Six

Rayne became Ansiwodoss’s student in a ceremony witnessed by the Goddess, received a Wizerland Emblem with enhanced powers, and was welcomed into the Floating City. After Ansiwodoss brought Rayne and Osiria to his quarters, Rayne met his teacher’s other students and recognized the witch who had tried to assassinate him.

  • Rayne observed the Council of Six and identified Speakers Modra, Kleios, and Rony, while Kadeja greeted him warmly.
  • Ansiwodoss led Rayne and the gathered wizards in prayer, then formally made Rayne his student before the Goddess and the witnesses.
  • Ansiwodoss gave Rayne a Wizerland Emblem whose teleportation and Any Door uses had been doubled, and Rayne kept the bonus secret as instructed.
  • After the ceremony, Kadeja invited Rayne to talk later, while Modra departed coldly and Kleios and Rony offered brief encouragement.
  • Ansiwodoss took Rayne and Osiria to the top of the High Tower, where Osiria introduced Ansiwodoss’s students and Kolsted’s students.
  • Rayne recognized one of the witches there as the shapeshifting wizard who had attempted to assassinate him when he first arrived in the Floating City.

Ch. 216Five Fireball Divine Cult

Rayne met his teacher Ansiwodoss’s students, suspected that Farina’s attempted assassination was linked to one of the Floating City’s speakers, and learned how quickly his teacher could cast devastating Fireballs. Ansiwodoss began guiding Rayne in the Modu School’s spellcasting techniques, leaving Rayne eager to learn.

  • Rayne met Yuvel, Dorothy, and Kolsted’s students, including Farina, whose vivid red soul suggested she wanted him dead.
  • Rayne suspected that Farina’s powerful escape scroll came from a high-ranking authority in the Floating City and realized Speaker Kadeja might have been warning him.
  • Ansiwodoss was astonished to learn Rayne had reached level 6 in half a year, then asked him to demonstrate his eight spells.
  • After watching Rayne cast, Ansiwodoss criticized his crude technique and demonstrated Potent Spellcasting, Quick Casting, and Multiple Casting with Third Circle Fireballs.
  • Rayne was amazed by Ansiwodoss’s demonstrations and eagerly asked his teacher to teach him.

Ch. 217Open Sesame

Rayne began daily lessons with Ansiwodoss to master Quick Casting with Lightning Burst Orb, then explored his new residence and Wizerland’s Grand Library. Back at his castle, he received an invitation to Lady Shalanwe’s trade fair and recognized a warhammer in its catalog as identical to Thunder God's Hammer.

  • Ansiwodoss taught Rayne the runes and principles behind Lightning Burst Orb, scheduled daily lessons, and assigned him to review the material.
  • Osiria showed Rayne his residence in Wizerland High Tower, where he set his Magic Door password to “Open Sesame” and configured his Emblem teleportation gate.
  • Osiria took Rayne to the Grand Library, where he borrowed books and secretly copied thousands of them into his phone while she read beside him.
  • Rayne returned to his castle, where Fabian delivered Lady Shalanwe’s invitation and brochure for a trade fair scheduled in three days.
  • Rayne examined the catalog and recognized its final-page warhammer as identical to Thunder God's Hammer.

Ch. 218Steel Dragon

Rayne decided to attend Lady Shalanwe’s trade fair and sell the Hurricane Staff, while studying his teacher’s spell journal. At the fair, Lady Shalanwe welcomed him and reacted with surprise when they shook hands.

  • Rayne planned to buy the fake Thunder God’s Hammer so he could later pass the genuine hammer off as the fake, and told Fabian he would attend the trade fair and sell the Hurricane Staff.
  • Rayne studied his teacher’s journal of more than two thousand spells and learned that written notes could not replace a teacher’s explanations.
  • Three days later, Rayne traveled to the trade fair with Emilith, resisting her advances because of her ambitions and his relationship with Viola.
  • Rayne arrived at the Six Deep Corners Commercial District, where Lady Shalanwe personally greeted him and revealed herself to be a Steel Dragon.
  • Lady Shalanwe shook Rayne’s hand, sensed something about him, and reacted with astonishment.

Ch. 219Legendary Mechanist

Rayne attended Lady Shalanwe's trade fair at the Melos Auction House, where he met Akalande, a powerful Legendary Mechanic and one of his territory's wealthiest business owners. The chapter ended with Rayne and Akalande bonding over mechanical technology just as the trade fair was about to begin.

  • Lady Shalanwe greeted Rayne and Emilith, and the two women traded pointed compliments before Rayne urged them inside.
  • Lady Shalanwe tried to persuade Rayne to renew her lease early, but he refused to make a decision before reviewing his territory's finances.
  • Lady Shalanwe introduced Rayne to the trade fair guests, who bowed to their lord before resuming their conversations.
  • Lady Shalanwe introduced Rayne to Akalande, a Legendary Intermediate Tier Mechanic, imperial councilor, and prominent businessman with businesses in Glamorgan.
  • Rayne and Akalande discussed mechanical technology and quickly began speaking on familiar terms until Lady Shalanwe reminded them that the trade fair was about to begin.

Ch. 220Thunderbolt Hammer

Rayne attended Lady Shalanwe's trade fair, where Rune Lord Gronus demonstrated the powerful replica warhammer Thunderbolt Hammer. After buying an Invisibility Ring, Rayne offered the Hurricane Staff for trade, drawing an eager bid of thirty thousand Gold Shields.

  • Rayne told Akalande and Lady Shalanwe that he had invented the phonograph and owned a share in Silver Star Record Company.
  • Lady Shalanwe introduced Gronus and the Thunderbolt Hammer, and Gronus demonstrated its lightning enchantments and Lightning Siphon Ring.
  • Lady Shalanwe announced that bidding on the Thunderbolt Hammer would take place at the end of the fair, then auctioned several enchanted items.
  • Rayne bought an Invisibility Ring at a bargain price and refrained from bidding on other items.
  • Rayne displayed the Hurricane Staff during the free-trade segment, and a High Tier Wizard offered thirty thousand Gold Shields for it.

Ch. 221Death Knight

At Lady Shalanwe’s trade fair, Rayne sold the Hurricane Staff to Farina in disguise, bought a Lightning Crystal, and discovered that a Death Knight named Seric was among the guests. Lady Shalanwe revealed that she had used the Thunderbolt Hammer to draw Rayne in, then asked him for territory of her own.

  • Rayne sold the Hurricane Staff to Farina, who was disguised as the wealthy Lady Lois, for fifty thousand gold shields.
  • Rayne bought the Lightning Crystal from a Wind Element user and mingled with the trade fair’s guests.
  • Rayne recognized Seric as a Death Knight and secretly listened to his stories about returning from the New Continent.
  • Seric negotiated with Lady Shalanwe over the Thunderbolt Hammer before Rayne entered her private room.
  • Rayne confronted Lady Shalanwe about her intentions, and she asked him to grant her a territory where she alone would hold authority.

Ch. 222The Dragon in Real Estate

Rayne negotiated with Lady Shalanwe, a dragon seeking land to develop into an upscale residential and commercial district, and agreed to grant her Stone Platinum Village in exchange for a 49% stake and funding her share of the project. The Thunderbolt Hammer changed hands, and Rayne learned that Seric had offered a Ghostly Jellyfish Demon Soul with the rare Superb Element called the Key of the Gate.

  • Lady Shalanwe asked Rayne to grant her Stone Platinum Village so she could build high-rises and a wealthy commercial district.
  • Rayne initially questioned her plan and tested whether she was a fellow transmigrator, but Shalanwe did not understand his Chinese or English.
  • Rayne agreed to grant Shalanwe the knight's territory, take a 49% stake in its businesses, and fund his share of the project.
  • Shalanwe gave Rayne the Thunderbolt Hammer, and Rayne asked what Seric had offered for it.
  • Lady Shalanwe revealed that Seric offered a Ghostly Jellyfish Demon Soul with the rare Superb Element called the Key of the Gate.

Ch. 223Title: The Key of the Gate

Rayne learned that Serik possessed the rare Key of the Gate, then secured the Thunderbolt Hammer from Lady Shalanwe. When Serik challenged the deal, Rayne struck him and destroyed a hidden pendant, exposing Serik as a Death Knight.

  • Rayne recognized Serik's Ghostly Jellyfish Demon Soul as the source of the Key of the Gate and learned Serik had asked Lady Shalanwe for the Thunderbolt Hammer and two hundred thousand Gold Shields.
  • Lady Shalanwe announced that Rayne had obtained the Thunderbolt Hammer, and the other bidders congratulated him.
  • Serik pressed Lady Shalanwe to reveal Rayne's offer and suggested he should get another chance to compete for the hammer.
  • Rayne put on the Lightning Siphon Ring, lifted the Thunderbolt Hammer, and struck Serik's chest, smashing his armor and a concealed pendant.
  • Serik's appearance changed as his skin paled, pus and a foul stench emerged, and blue flames appeared in his eyes, revealing him as a Death Knight.

Ch. 224One Hammer, Reduced to Ash

Rayne killed the Death Knight Seric with one blow from the Thunderbolt Hammer and recovered the Ghostly Jellyfish’s Soul Stone. After discovering that its Key of the Gate could grant powerful space-time abilities, Rayne decided to fuse with it after his next Soul Transformation.

  • The Transcendents prepared to attack Seric after his Death Knight identity was exposed, but Rayne struck first with the Thunderbolt Hammer.
  • Seric’s Soul Wraith Assault had no effect on Rayne, whose hammer shattered the Death Knight and burned his remains to ash.
  • Rayne searched Seric’s armor, found the enchanted treasure box containing the Ghostly Jellyfish’s Soul Stone, and took it for himself.
  • Rayne questioned the guests about Seric’s companions, but no one could provide useful information, and the shaken guests began leaving the trade fair.
  • Back at the castle, Rayne examined the Ghostly Jellyfish and discovered its Key of the Gate and four other Element Runes.
  • Rayne decided to attempt fusing with the Ghostly Jellyfish after his next Soul Transformation, despite the risk of its affinity clashing with his Lightning Affinities.

Ch. 225Lady Shalanwe's Bone Altar

Rayne funded Shalanwe’s development plan and set up a secret Mechanical Alchemy Room while advancing his spellcasting studies. The discovery of a Bone Altar at a seaside estate left him facing the possibility that an Undead Wizard was still nearby.

  • Shalanwe presented her detailed plan to develop Stone Platinum Village, and Rayne gave her ninety-eight thousand Gold Shields and asked her to buy equipment and materials.
  • Shalanwe delivered Rayne’s requested supplies, and he established a guarded, forbidden Mechanical Alchemy Room in the castle.
  • Rayne improved his Lightning Burst Orb and Quick Casting under Ansiwodoss, while his investigations into Farina and Marquis Atlank Pirino Aiden produced no clues.
  • Fabian told Rayne that a Bone Altar had been found at an estate, and Rayne rode there with several Extreme Warriors.
  • Rayne found Emilith and her mercenaries investigating an altar surrounded by at least two hundred skeletons, and a short figure said an Undead Wizard had built it and was still in the territory.

Ch. 226The False Demon Hunter

Rayne learned that the Bone Altar would empower an undead wizard across much of Glamorgan Territory for a month, then disguised himself as a Cat School Demon Hunter to search for the wizard near the Giant Hammer Arena. The chapter left him entering a tavern and finding Dinglaji there.

  • Dinglaji explained that the seven skulls on the Bone Altar marked it as an undead wizard’s battlefield, and estimated its influence would cover nearly half of Glamorgan Territory for a month.
  • Fabian reported that the estate belonged to a silk merchant who had met with Seric about buying it, leading Rayne to connect the altar to the dead Death Knight’s plans.
  • Rayne told Dinglaji to find and kill the undead wizard, offering one thousand Gold Shields for locating them and three thousand for killing them.
  • Rayne altered his appearance and equipment to pose as a Cat School Demon Hunter, then teleported to the area around the Giant Hammer Arena to search for followers of the Lord of Death.
  • Rayne found no such followers while scanning passersby with his Soul Eye, but heard a familiar voice in a tavern and discovered Dinglaji holding forth there.

Ch. 227Playing Cards Are So Much Fun

Rayne joined Dinglaji and Bolin for Myriad Spirits Cards while keeping watch over the street for his target. Using his Mutated Cellphone to track cards and calculate probabilities, he repeatedly beat them, but by the time the games ended, the night had passed and his investigation had stalled.

  • Dinglaji invited Rayne to his table, where he played cards with Bolin and boasted about his good luck.
  • Rayne accepted Dinglaji's invitation to play and chose a deck modeled on Roger's strategy.
  • Rayne used his Mutated Cellphone to track cards and calculate probabilities, winning five rounds and taking fifty Gold Shields from Dinglaji.
  • Dinglaji sold Rayne his cards, then lost the twenty Gold Shields back to him in another game.
  • Rayne played dozens of low-stakes rounds against Bolin and won nearly all of them.
  • Rayne noticed that it was deep into the night and realized he had spent the evening playing instead of investigating.
