Compared to the Sacrifice Faction, the Redemption Faction was much simpler and more straightforward.
The Holy Arm, usually lodged in the caster's left hand, could redeem and purify at the soul level those humans warped by desire and animals corrupted by demonic energy, restoring them to their original state.
Humans would be brought back to the stronghold, while monsters would be released back into the wild.
In their view, it was desire and demonic energy that caused ecological imbalance. Once those things were removed, the creatures naturally qualified to return to their own Ecological Niches... but certain events recently had dealt the Redemption Faction a brutal slap in the face.
The Holy Arm could indeed purify the warped desires within Humanoid Monsters and restore them to their original state, but it could not change human nature.
Those purified people had merely gone from being 100% fallen to 1% fallen. The root cause of their corruption was the desire buried deep within their hearts.
How could people possibly have their desires completely removed? The seven emotions and six desires could only vary in strength; without desire, one would not be human at all, or even a living creature.
So it was only a matter of time before they turned into monsters again.
On the New Continent, those who could not hold fast to their original hearts and allowed desire to exploit their weakness would inevitably become warped.
Similar incidents had already occurred, and there were quite a few of them. Even the Great Commander, who originally advocated redemption and used this power himself, had shown faint signs of demonization after making a choice that went against his original intentions under extreme circumstances.
Redemption and sacrifice—one repeatedly delayed death, while the other delivered a decisive death sentence. Whether for the dead or
