One Monster, Two Uses: One Redemption, One Sacrifice

More terrifying than the uncanny valley effect was this kind of demonized creature that resembled a chimera.

The basic structure of its torso still resembled the Poisonous Bird Demon Cheng Tian remembered, but its head and face, so highly similar to those of a human, were enough to make anyone feel physically sick.

It somewhat resembled a harpy straight out of a legendary bestiary, without any beautification whatsoever.

There were no such bizarre freaks in Monster Hunter: World, so it could only have been a product of the Soul Sacrifice rules deeply influencing it. Moreover, from the information fed back by Shadow Serpent Form alone, Cheng Tian sensed something unusual.

It was as if the monster before him was not purely a Poisonous Bird Demon.

"Poisonous Bird Demon armor is number one in the world!!! Hehehe!!!"

While Cheng Tian took the chance to observe the Poisonous Bird Demon before him, its frog-like eyes rolled around before it suddenly spoke, leaving Cheng Tian stunned by its words.

Before Cheng Tian could make sense of it, the human-headed, human-faced Poisonous Bird Demon had already opened its mouth to an impossibly wide angle. A fat, entirely purple tongue lashed toward Cheng Tian.

At that instant, Cheng Tian's Bonding Stone lit up brightly. Accompanied by a resounding dragon roar, the Scarlet Tyrannosaurus Rex waiting inside emerged head to tail from the void, its terrifying club-like jaws meeting the Poisonous Bird Demon's tongue, which was filled with venom.

Splat!

Liquid sprayed everywhere!

A mixture of blood and venom splashed over the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the surrounding soil. A string of tiny purple bubbles immediately appeared above the crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex's head--

This indicated that the Tyrannosaurus Rex had been poisoned.

Yet the poison did not diminish the Tyrannosaurus Rex's ferocity in the
